We're off to see the Headmistress

[Pete Wisdom]

Monday morning, Pete Wisdom was seen strolling through the Administrative building, eventually knocking on the Headmistress's door.

[Samantha McManus]

"Come in, Agent Wisdom."

[Pete Wisdom]

"Now now, we don't need to be so formal, do we? Madame Headmistress?" Pete said as he closed the door behind him.

[Samantha McManus]

She chuckled.

"Well, you rarely visit unless it's for business, aye?"

[Pete Wisdom]

"Well, I didn't know that you were feeling so neglected. I'll have to make sure to come knocking more often," Wisdom chuckled. "Still no reason to be so formal even if I'm here on business, is it love?"

[Samantha McManus]

"Suppose not. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

[Pete Wisdom]

"Mmmm... mixed business, I suppose," Wisdom admitted. "For starters, don't suppose you know more about the little fire that happened in your back yard yesterday yet?"

[Samantha McManus]

"I know I've got nearly a dozen students I don't want anywhere near the investigation team right now."

[Pete Wisdom]

"Mmm. And you have no idea where your little sociopathic firebug has gone?" Wisdom asked.

[Samantha McManus]

"She wasn't in very good communication with the faculty before this happened, so we don't have any leads as of yet."

[Pete Wisdom]

"Mmm... please tell me that that's just the official statement and that you're just keeping what you're doing to find her hush-hush," Wisdom said, almost apologetically. "That, I can take and everyone's happy."

[Samantha McManus]

"You know how our good Mister Lynn has been harping on us being an unaccountable private army, Pete."

"We will help find her to the best of our ability, but I can't do so in an official capacity until the London police formally include us."

[Pete Wisdom]

"Oh, sod the London Police, Sam," Pete said dismissively. "The people want to know we're not stepping on toes, but you know and I know that if we leave things to them nothing will ever get done, and the people who are riding my arse know that too. If you find her and you need the bobbies to wake up, call me and I can have the right people give them a smack. You handle the 'making sure things get done' so no one feels the need to start throwing their obesely official weight at you, I'll handle the 'making sure people like it' for you."

[Samantha McManus]

"Oh, I didn't say we were idle on this. Just that we're needing a soft touch for now."

[Pete Wisdom]

"Perfect! You have a plan and you're doing it, now I can make people happy," he said, relaxing in his seat a little more. "Isn't answering to bureaucracy lovely?"

[Samantha McManus]

"By the by, if you've ever wondered how a distributed consciousness shows up to a device like Cerebro, the answer is apparently 'it doesn't.'"

[Pete Wisdom]

Wisdom frowned a bit. "Something you just learned now?"

[Samantha McManus]

"As I said, we haven't been idle."

[Pete Wisdom]

"I didn't hear you just say that then. Can you do me a favor, though, and make sure there are no such problems with a short list of other people, given the upcoming security hell we're going to be in?"
