Ryan nodded, mentally starting to count to fifty before he spoke again to avoid saying anything untoward.

"We've been in touch with our counterparts in the French and Spanish secret services, his last two stops. They say nothing out of the ordinary has occurred.

I believe that you lot are brighter than that. But we don't want to appear brighter than that."

Bear looked from one team member to the other, then back to agent Pennington.

"So, be friendly, stick to him like glue? He's going to try playing us like a violin in the Latverian orchestra.."

"Which is why we're going for the best of the best here."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Horseshit. If you were going for the best of the best, you'd send government agents in. Ryan nodded as he kept writing his notes.

"We don't know what Doom is up to. We just know it's Doom. And that Doom never rests easy.

Do we have any questions here?"

"I'd ask if we needed more magical knowledge on this team, but I guess the Cap'n has that covered huh?" Ronnie asked with her arm raised.

"Mr. Doom does use magic, right? I can never keep these dictators straight. I've never had to deal with'im before."

[Narrator]

"Doom does consider himself to be a world class sorcerer, yes.

Captain Britain is the closest thing we have to a magic user we trust."

[Janice Gilbertson]

"And honestly, I'm not exactly a sorceress."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"It wouldn't matter," Ryan said. "You don't try to match magic with Victor Von Doom unless you're a freaking Sorceror Supreme. We're better off going at it this way." He shuddered. "Trust me."

[Narrator]

"Mr. Gabriel's assessment is correct. It does not seem wise to confront and/or attack Doom without knowing all the facts in advance."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"And the guy's a smug bastard," Ryan added. "It doesn't matter if we picked who's going, if we change it up, or if we throw random people into this... don't be surprised when he knows who you are, facts about you, your families, your personal lives... He's creepy. And he'll try to unsettle you. And he'll probably succeed, so just don't show it."

[Narrator]

"And that's another reason we picked you--you have some experience dealing with Doom."
