"Based on reports from your previous missions, we've upped security from normal world cups. We're enlisting the local police forces of eight major cities as well as branches of the military, and a large volunteer force.

However, there are...special concerns this year, with terrorism. And possible, err, end of the world scenarios."

"We are assigning Excalibur as the official guards of Victor von Doom. We want you to find out his plans, what he's up to here in Britian. And to do this before and without any harm falling to Doom himself.

Our files indicate a very high probability that any attempt on Doom's life may only serve to further his plans, possibly trigger failsafes. The man can literally not be underestimated. We even believe some of his more outlandish plans were designed to fail, to cause his opponents to underestimate them."

"Doom has, rather uncharacteristically, been on a world tour of sorts--if you're familiar with his normal modus operandi, he normally prefers NOT to extend many of the normal diplomatic functions. However, he's been quite the globetrotter, recently, having reportedly peaceful meetings in countries all over Europe and Northern Africa. England is his last stop.
