Lucy's brain, which seemed to be processing things a few seconds slow due to shock, screamed even louder when Tommy climbed out. "OH MY GOD, ZOMBIE! KILL IT!" she shrieked, hauling (with effort) a big freaking axe from apparently thin air.

"Look how much he bled! He can't have lived through that, let go! I know how to deal with them, we watched all the zombie apocalypse movies! We'll be okay, I'll protect you!" Lucy protested, wrestling Chloe for the axe, which was comically too big for either of them to use well anyway.

Lucy stopped struggling, letting the head of the axe clang to the floor as she looked, suddenly very calmly, at Chloe and spoke very matter-of-factly. "Chloe, what is the simplest explanation here? That the water magically turned into blood, or that the blood is Tommy's? The simplest explanation is that he bled into the water, so he must be a zombie now."

"See? Even the zombie agrees with me!" Lucy said happily. "Now let's kill it! It'll be just like Shaun of the dead! Except without a cricket bat! Only... do you want a cricket bat? I think we have one! And DON'T CALL MY SISTER A FEATHER HEAD, YOU PIKEY TOSSER!" she added, this last shouted at Tommy.

"Oh, that's right! We do! That... might be a better idea than chopping his head off, wouldn't it? Y'know, just in case?" Lucy said, struggling the axe back into the pocket and rummaging in again until she came out with a few glass bottles and some squirt guns. "Here!"
