Room 450: Melody, Brandy, Veronica and Svetlana

[Melody Martens]

"Mmmhmm. Sure you are," she smiled coyly. Her piece hadn't been very big in the first place so it was quickly gone, and she focused on watching the film.

[Derek Scott]

"Of course I am. And I try not to walk away from them, either," he said reasonably. Then, without further warning, he kissed her. Rather well, as a matter of fact.

[Melody Martens]

Melody wasn't completely expecting the kiss, but she wasn't overly surprised by it either. After the initial spike of surprise wore off, she melted into him, returning the kiss eagerly. After a few very enjoyable moments, she pulled back, smiling shyly. "I can only spread very, very good rumors now," she giggled.

[Derek Scott]

"Well, so far I'm only breaking even," he pointed out, smiling back at her.

[Melody Martens]

Melody grinned, then feigned passing out and snoring, landing softly on his chest.

[Derek Scott]

Derek chuckled, taking the opportunity to put his arm around her, giving her a playful little squeeze as she 'dozed'.

[Melody Martens]

Melody smiled and turned a bit, looking up at him as she rested more or less cradled in his arms, "You smell nice," she giggled. "What are you wearing?"

[Derek Scott]

"Oh come on, how do you know I don't just naturally smell awesome," he answered with a grin, twirling his finger into her hair. "Nah, its... Drakar?" He took a sniff to confirm, as he'd been in a hurry taking his rushed shower on his way over and hadn't been totally paying attention to what he'd grabbed. "Yeah, Drakar."

[Melody Martens]

She giggled, "Well I guess I don't really know that that isn't your mutant power so, I could've just taken your word for it."

[Derek Scott]

Derek smirked. "Oh, come on, I thought everyone knew my crazy little power by now," he mused.

[Melody Martens]

"Your ability to mimic any perfume or cologne scent by sheer will?" she laughed.

[Derek Scott]

"Nah, nothing that impressive," he said, holding one hand palm up. Slightly transparent black crystals began growing in his hand. They'd dissolve after a few seconds, so the formations changed, first looking like natural crystal growths, then getting fancier and obviously more deliberate until they ended up solidifying in the shape of a black crystal rose.

[Melody Martens]

"Oh wow, that's beautiful," she said in awe of the creation he held in his hand. "How long do they last?"

[Derek Scott]

"Depends. I can make 'em so they fall apart after a few hours, and I can make 'em so they won't fall apart. Like that one."

[Melody Martens]

"You mean I can keep this one?" she smiled hopefully.

[Derek Scott]

"Of course," Derek said, smiling as he relaxed a bit more, twirling the rose around to hand it to her stem-first.

[Melody Martens]

"It's beautiful," she smiled, twirling it gently in her hand, admiring it. "I want to steal your powers and make pretty things," she pouted playfully.

[Derek Scott]

Derek chuckled. "Sorry, they wouldn't love me in the infirmary half as much without it, so I'm going to have to keep it. I'll just have to keep taking your 'pretty things' requests instead."

[Melody Martens]

"How do you use this in the infirmary?" she asked curiously.

[Derek Scott]

"It's good for on-the-fly immobilization and casts and such. Plus it helps if there's a shortage of crutches. Which does happen occasionally."

[Melody Martens]

"A pair of crutches made out of this would look badass!" she grinned. "You are handy to keep around then. And expect plenty of requests, Mister, now that I've seen your handiwork."

Her eyes caught sight of the TV again, just as an explosion engulfed the screen. "I guess if you ever need anything blown up," she gestured towards the TV, where more explosions were being dodged by the heroes, "you can give me a call."

[Derek Scott]

"I'll keep that in mind," Derek said, smiling. "Firecrackers-on-command are always fun, after all."

[Melody Martens]

Melody closed her fist for a moment, and then flicked her wrist while opening her hand into the center of the room, sending several pea-sized blue globules into the air, where they all exploded, sounding like a bunch of minuscule firecrackers.

[Derek Scott]

Derek smirked, then made a thin globe of crystal, hollow with an opening in one spot. "Here, put some in here," he said.

[Melody Martens]

Melody smiled curiously, clenching her fist loosely over opening in the sphere and slowly letting a few slip inside.

"Are we going to wind up with shards of crystal all over my room for me to step on barefoot?" she giggled.

[Derek Scott]

"Nope!" Derek said, tossing the globe into the air, toward the ceiling... where it exploded with a little crack, sending glittery crystal powder into the air over them.

[Melody Martens]

Melody just stared at the crystal flecks floating to the floor in awe, a smile on her face. She looked back up at Derek, pulled herself up a bit and kissed him softly.

[Derek Scott]

Derek pushed himself up a little, too, as he kissed her back, slipping his arm around her waist. They'd be able to feel the little flecks of crystal sprinkling down over them, if they really cared to pay attention to anything other than each other. Which, for the record, Derek didn't.

[Melody Martens]

Melody was lost in the kiss, barely noticing the surprisingly pleasant feel that the falling crystal had. She shifted on her bed, laying down and pulling Derek with her.

Derek didn't need much urging, rolling with her and being careful to avoid her bad leg as he kissed her harder...

March 29th, Post Bar Fun
Melody pulled the door to her room closed behind her and Derek and pulled him to her, kissing him softly on the lips for a long time before sitting down on her bed. She looked like she was trying to say something, but wasn't quite sure how to say it.

[Derek Scott]

Derek waited a few moments for her to find her voice, but could see that she wasn't going to any time soon. So rather than press her, he leaned down, kissing her softly as he sat down, pulling her to him. Some things, after all, were a bit easier when you took a little time to break the walls down.

[Melody Martens]

"Derek..." she said, looking at him nervously, "I...I really like, you, a lot."

[Derek Scott]

"And I like you, too," Derek said, smiling softly at her, brushing his hand along her hair, not making any move to rush whatever she was trying to say.

[Melody Martens]

She smiled, but then looked at the floor for a moment, as if the words she was looking for would be written underneath their feet. "Well...since...we both like each other...would you...I dunno... be willing to...only date each other?"

[Derek Scott]

Derek blinked, not really sure what he'd expected, but obviously not having expected that. Evidently, it was a very welcome surprise, though, as he broke into a surprised grin at the question. "Of course I would be. As long as you are," he answered, for a moment seeming to have trouble finding the right words himself.

[Melody Martens]

Melody smiled, looking very relieved. "Of course!"

She leaned in and kissed him again. "Let's make sure neither of us falls asleep this time," she smiled playfully, nipping at his neck.

"Wouldn't fall asleep for my life," Derek answered with a grin, pulling her back onto the bed with him.

Lana walked out of shower and into the living room, toweling off her hair.

Brandy yawned as she came out of her dorm, her robe barely closed around her. "Oooh! New roommate!" she said, excitedly.
