"I'm trying not to think too hard about it," Janice said as she looked Malaika's restraints over.

"The wrist and ankle straps are power inhibitors." Malaika growled, starting to pull against her restraints. From the condition of her uniform, this wasn't the first time she'd tried to get loose.

"Well okay, I'm... really wary of using my powers in a reality storm, but if literally anything is possible now..."

She concentrated her powers on Malaika's left wrist restraint.

Veronica landed on her as with a booming thud, shaking the floor around her and dropping Will from her grasp. She stood up and was struck by another ball of energy. She was starting to get upset. She looked for something, anything to use as a club to try and swat Dr. Tomorrow out of the air.

Nick's blast, surprisingly, disrupted the energy ball following him, causing it to fizzle and shake apart. Will's and Ronnie's, however, came back around for another shot at them.

The manacles, under Janice's power, constricted around Malaika's wrists.

Despite the pain Veronica was more than willing to do what the team captain ordered of her. She grabbed Will in her large, powerful hand and threw him as hard as she could with a yell.

Gideon still running grabbed a chair and spun around tossing it at the pursuing energy ball. If it didn't work he'd probably be rather screwed.

Without Gideon triggering the Doctor's shielding, he was able to pick up vague impressions from his mind. He wasn't particularly worried or scared about Will grabbing the staff as he was about if Will were non-corrosive, like covered in wax...

Dr. Tomorrow raised his staff and unleashed a spray of... well, some blue substance into Will's path.

Great advice, if Will had had complete control of his shifting back, which he didn't.

The good Doc would find himself and his staff soaked as Will was forcefully transmuted into some liquid.

"Mmm, refreshing!" Dr. Tomorrow laughed, shaking his now-wet hair out as he turned toward Gideon and Ronnie. "Now... let's mix things up a bit!" he cackled, sending waves of energy crashing into Gideon and Ronnie. They would be a bit disoriented for a minute, then Gideon would find himself in a rather larger and curvier body, and Ronnie would find herself in one that was picking up the fear of everyone in the room.

All of a sudden, the Doc's clothes, staff, and hair began to smell...sweet?

And it got a bit...heavier?

Chloroform! Will couldn't change densities yet, but he sure could change compositions...

"Here goes.."

Bear moved Malaika's left arm up a bit, exposing as much of the area connecting her to the machine as possible.

Once done she backed up a few steps, retrieved a solid steel sphere, and let loose on the connection.

Gideon shook his head trying to clear his head, and the seeing the relative size of objects around him looked at his hand.

"Oh this is just perfect," Gideon said before swinging a rather poorly aimed punch at Dr. Tomorrow.

Tomorrow staggered a bit. "Well... that was... creative..."

He managed to tap a button on the staff through the chemical and punch induced haze in his mind, and suddenly Will's liquid mass was splashing to the ground. The room was, for a moment, silent.

In the next room, though, Bear had smashed Malaika free. The machine, however, didn't seem to take too kindly to this. Reality seemed to ripple around them violently, like time and space itself was boiling.

Will ended up in several distinct puddles across the room.

One rose up, and a tiny Will sat, dazed, on the ground, not breathing but conscious, as puddles of chloroform is not something you want to breathe in.

"Let's face it, I'd have loved to disappear the last time he touched me," Cal groaned, standing up. "Where is that son of a bitch. I think I'm finally over the 'he saved my life' thing and totally on board the 'beat him mercilessly' thing now, but I want to test to make sure."

Meanwhiel, in the next room, the air around the spire began to shimmer.

Shadowy forms appeared from the surface of the spire. Each was man-shaped, but the onlyfeature that could be made out from the pitch-black of their bodies were two glowing eyes on each one. They seemed to be made of the emptiness that filled the rifts that formed in reality, and they all fixed their eyes on the three dangling (though now retreating) girls.

"Not sure how to get small enough to fit through that hole," Gideon said looking at the others.

Veronica was very, very confused. Looking up at Gideon she got an idea of what her clone must feel like. It was weird to see herself from this angle.

"Just... try to think of your body as a spring. Close yer eyes and imagine a stretched slinky comin' back to normal." She tried to sound calm and collected but Gideon's powers were seriously freaking her out.

Like a slinky...

Gideon did as he was told, and began to shrink down to a more manageable size. Then suddenly sprang back to the size he'd started at. Trying again he began to shrink in stops and starts until he was at about 7 feet of height.

"That's not as easy as it looks," Gideon said rubbing the back of his/her neck.

Cal nodded, picking up his guns from where they'd landed. "All right, let's rock," he said, checking his guns for damage as he hurried for the hole in the wall.

Gideon walked closer to well, his body.

"Try to think about a wall or your favorite food," Gideon said, "Focusing on something else will help, but there's not really a way to turn it off. At least none that I've found."
