"Drop them.. now!" Bear said, tossing one ball to the center of the room, and another down the gullet of an advancing Legion grand oak table.

Home Sweet Home

Postby Melody Martens » Mon Oct 10, 2011 9:26 pm

Melody dropped the bomb to the ground in front of her, and then rushed to the elevator with Bear.

"Let's go! Sooner we move, the sooner I can let it blow everything up here to hell!" she said quickly, her eyes still glowing brightly, her face straining with the effort of concentration.

Before it started to move (which was slow) the door melted shut to shield them from the explosion before Sara let the cabin slide down the shaft, sweat running down her forehead.

The elevator car itself quivered once.

Either Sara doesn't notice or she ignores it on purpose. She's set on safely bringing the elevator down and that's what she does, eventually opening the door to reveal the underground lab complex with it's tanks and tubes and machinery. Faultline and the others are nowhere to be seen, but then again the lab extends further than can be seen from the elevator.

"I don't even want to know..."

John tentatively stepped out first.

"God this place is creepy..." he said as he looked around.

Melody wasted no time getting the hell out of the elevator car, and her eyes scanned the area, searching for threats.

A faint hum from the machinery fills the air and the occasional bubble rises in one of the liquids in the small tanks but otherwise it's quiet. Further back in the main area the wall is hidden by a massive tank, most of it hidden by the machinery and tubes and smaller tanks surrounding it. A section of it is clear plexiglass showing nothing but grey. It's hard to tell from the distance, but there's faint movement inside.

"I... I don't know. It could be, but why would she do that?" A bit of a pointless question maybe, after what they saw upstairs.

Captain Britain reached out with her actual mutant powers, rather than what she'd been gifted with. She tried to feel out the mechanisms of the containment unit, what was being fed into it, what could go wrong with it...

There are lots of things that control what goes into the tank and what comes out and when, temperature sensors, pressure valves, those kind of things. At first not much happened, but after a while the sound of straining metal came from somewhere within the machinery as several valves failed while others just happened to continue working and more and more nutrient solution gets pumped into the main chamber until the pressure eventually exceeds what the plexiglass window can take and with a crack that's probably heard upstairs the tank ruptures, spilling out what of the nutrient liquid hasn't been already absorbed by the second mass that pours from the tank in a massive: an enormous wave of a grey, clay-like substance.

It kept flowing out, and out, and out...and out, and out, and out.

Part of it began reforming, into an almost, but not quite, Will-like shape...

"Out...wha? WHA??!"

Legion reared itself to a MASSIVE height, and let out an unearthly sound, a scream tremendously loud and unnatural from five mouths at once, as the mass of grey protoplasm consolidated into a giant, shaggy, vaguely-humanoid beast.

Some of it...wasn't, and threatened to crash over the party like a wave!
