Issue 1 Downtime

Andre, having convinced Julia to let him pick up a few things, stood next to her in a cargo elevator as it stopped at his apartment in a renovated warehouse that managed to survive the destruction of Old Genosha. The old metal door rolled open and the scenery quickly changed from urban decay to one of well-furnished and rather well-decorated style, although it could use a good spring cleaning.

Crossfire raises an eyebrow in surprise, having expected the apartment itself to match the rest of the building, but doesn't comment on it as she steps inside. "Just hurry up and get the stuff you need."

God, I almost wish I had gone to that club with Ria and Jez instead of the bar. Now I have to babysit this guy...

After raiding Andre's fridge for something to drink and a sandwich Crossfire starts wandering around the apartment in boredom-induced curiosity.

The only thing of interest is the area set aside as an art studio, complete with an old-fashioned-looking semi-automated loom.

"Yep, totally normal. Every hip guy has a fucking loom these days..." she mumbles, poking around Andre's other art stuff to see if he produced any more creepy sketches.

There are a few sketches laying around; several iterations of the same design, Cassiel on a throne, Exodus on a throne, Xavier's London under attack by rioters, and an unfinished one of him kissing a dark-haired girl.

Better not to think about that too much. she thinks, gathering up the sketches before deciding to check what's taking Andre so long.

The moment she opened his bedroom door, Andre closed a curtain covering a section of wall. His suitcase was still open on the bed and only half full.

Revealed to her is a cork-board covered in various things arranged in an almost random fashion; printed articles with highlighted passages, thumbnail sketches of various people and places, a small map of the world with pins in various countries, and a fractal tree. Chief among the layout is a note that reads "Acolyte?" under a news picture of Cassiel with two lines of sketches under it.

She just blankly stares at the board for a moment, not really sure what the hell that's supposed to be.

"Holy shit dude, you are so screwed..." she mumbles, although it doesn't sound quite as aggressive as her usual attitude towards Andre so far.
