Name: Madison “Singularity” West

Age: 29

Power: Madison can manipulate space. In the beginning, this primarily manifested itself as a form of teleportation, drawing two points in space closer together and allowing her to “jump” across them. Over time Madison discovered more about her powers and learned how to do such tasks as increasing the amount of space around her making her impossible to hit or folding space together inside an enclosed area to make the interior larger then it would seem from the outside.

Her powers aren’t limitless however and tampering with such things can be tricky and dangerous. For the sake of safety, Madison usually only relies on a few of her more rote tricks such as teleportation, increasing the distance between objects, or creating larger spaces. More complex acts she avoids unless absolutely necessary.

Description: Madison has a muscular athletic build and is slightly taller then average. She has short dark brown hair and brown eyes. Professionally, she usually wears a black suit and tie unless her work calls for other attire. During her days off, she usually dresses very casually. Jeans and simple t-shirts or sweaters.

Background: Madison grew up the single child of a mother and father who lived in the middle of nowhere in Southern Arizona. Madison had a pretty normal life until she turned fifteen, which turned out to be a very rough year for her. Both of her grandparents died in a car accident and only months later her father died of a heart attack.

Distraught, Madison found herself at her father’s funeral wishing she could just get away from everything. And that’s when her mutant abilities kicked in, teleporting her away from the funeral to her room.

She was sent to the Xavier’s Institute where she learned to control her abilities. After graduation, she attempted to join the military but was refused because of their standing policy at the time to not allow mutants in the military. For nearly a year, she drifted aimlessly until she was recruited by a peacekeeping force of the U.N. who planned on training mutants to assist in support efforts all around the globe as part of a new paramilitary organization.

The program was considered something of a success, but after nearly seven years working with the U.N. Madison turned her eye to helping create a separate new branch of the organization that identified and help provide training to mutants in some of the most dangerous parts of the world. Mutants who, for whatever reason, couldn’t enroll in programs like the Xavier Institute or the Academy of Tomorrow. For three hard years, Madison worked to try to keep this new branch open until she was summarily dismissed from her post as part of a political ploy by many nations that felt the U.N. was interfering in the sovereignty of the countries she was working in.

Madison found herself unemployed when she was approached by XU with the offer of teaching Power Control and a few other classes at their London Campus.
