Name: Edward “Hellhound” Carver

Power: Eddie is able to summon and control a “hellhound”, an enormous dog the size of a horse with black fur and red eyes. The origin of the dog is commonly thought to be some sort of psychic construct, although the tests have been mostly inconclusive.

The hellhound is connected through Eddie through a telepathic link allowing the two to share senses and communicate. Unfortunately, it also means they share any pain that the other goes through.

By restricting the energy he puts into summoning the hellhound, Eddie has learned to summon a smaller less powerful form of it. About the size of a puppy, this version is little more then an extra set of eyes. But it is useful for keeping it on campus.

The hellhound is only capable of sustaining it’s form while Eddie is conscious. If he’s rendered unconscious it will dissipate immediately, only to return once he awakens.

Being some sort of construct it has an enormous amount of endurance, although the amount of damage it can soak up is usually dependent on how much Eddie can mentally endure. While very large, it is essentially a dog and isn’t much stronger or faster then you’d expect for an animal it‘s size. The only real special ability it has is an ability to breathe fire for brief periods of time which hardly seems worth mentioning.

Description: Eddie is medium height, with an athletic build. He has medium length black hair and blue eyes. He usually wears casual clothes, such as jeans and t-shirts.

Background: Eddie grew up on the island nation of Providence with his parents. His father was an engineer who sought out Providence with it’s promises of peace and learning and his mother was studying under the Askani.

Eddie grew up in peace on the island. When his abilities manifested, he was encouraged to seek out several mutants on the island that taught him how to control and refine his abilities.

Eddie began studying the Askani philosophies, following in the footsteps of his mother. He has recently passed the introductory studies and reached the point where one of the Askani must leave their home and journey out into the world as an outsider. Eddie chose to attend the Xavier’s University in order to follow his spiritual pilgrimage, beginning with the newest iteration of the campus where the dreams of Xavier were born.
