Dr. Miles Cross

Postby Miles Cross » Tue Jun 02, 2009 9:24 pm

Name: Miles Cross
Country of Origin: United States (Atlanta, Georgia)
Age: 35

Power: Miles has the ability to temporarily link two people's minds, which has two effects--it puts the two people in a trance-like state, and creates a telepathic illusion. In this illusion, they feel that they have key aspects of the other party, such as the powers and elements of the personality--i.e., were Con and Bear to switch, he'd be kind of hippy upbeat and happy and all that while she'd be all dark and mysterious and creepy. This is a sort of sped-up time, where one minute of real time is equal to about 15-30 minutes of in-head time.

The maximum amount of time Dr. Cross can hold it is one hour, which is roughly a day, head-time.

History: Miles graduated with a PHD in Counselor Education from Texas A&M, with a minor in mutant studies. Upon the founding of Xavier University, he applied and was granted the position of staff counselor, to help guide the impressionable young youths through the assuredly troubled times ahead.

Personality: Miles is noted for his reserved demeanor, with an authoritative speaking voice. He's very easy-going and quick to smile, comfortingly.

This can annoy some people, but hey, he's a nice guy, and he's here to help. And listen.

How long does the swap work for? And can he control how long the swap lasts? Also, when its done, does the person get their old mutation back? If so, how long does that take?

I like the app, I just want some additional detail.

Ah! I forgot to put that in.

The swap lasts for at most one hour--I'd say that he could cancel it at anytime before that, if all three people were in the same location again.

The two swap-ees have to be in the same room, at least, for the swap to occur--he can't, like, swap someone against their will across campus.

It only takes a moment or two for the original power to 're-assert' itself.

I'd personally prefer it to be something of a telepathic illusion formed by merging their two minds, rather than actually swapping powers. That just... leaves a lot of room for mess.

Alright, let's do it that way, then. Dr. Cross can temporarily link two people's minds, which has two effects--it puts the two people in a trance-like state, and creates a telepathic illusion. In this illusion, they feel that they have key attributes of the other person, including powers and elements of the personality--i.e., were Con and Bear to switch, he'd be kind of hippy upbeat and happy and all that while she'd be all dark and mysterious and creepy. This is a sort of sped-up time, where one minute of real time is equal to about 15-30 minutes of in-head time.

The maximum amount of time Dr. Cross can hold it is one hour, which is roughly a day, head-time.

I like. I think it's broad enough to be a useful power for the purpose. Also, since it's a non-combat character, I'm not so worried about if it might be too powerful. Approval #1.

I was hoping to avoid it, since I'm fundamentally lazy and didn't want to set you up. But we need a counselor right now, so I'll give you...

Approval 2.
