Issue 1 Downtime

Having survived the first week of school (not that there had been any doubt in his head about it), Alex found himself appreciating that yes, the cafeteria made a really good cheeseburger as he relaxed in the dining hall.

Kyra walked in, and, feeling all official and mentor like, grabbed some food and sat down next to Alex.

Alex blinked as this cute and obviously-older-than-him girl sat down with him at lunch. "Oh. Um... hi," he said. There was something familiar about her, but damned if he could tell why.

New X-Men I guess...but why is she sitting with Alex?

Brigid came in, picking up some food and heading out to find a seat. She offered a smile and a wave to Alex, before blinking when she realized who he was sitting with.

Oh, holy hell. I guess he would know her. Wait, when did she get wings?

So you eventually learn to suck less at it? I hate it. I hear shit all the time, it's hard to focus on anything, ever, and I'm always paranoid that I'm shouting something to the whole room. Haley replied as she continued to stare sort of blankly into her magazine, somewhat more focused on responding as well as listening to the interesting conversation going on at the next table.

...Your wings are really pretty she added a bit bashfully.
