Issue 1 Downtime

Bear was strolling along, enjoying the smell of the old stomping grounds as the students scurried around her.

She smiled and greeted those she knew, happy to reconnect with old faces.

The only warning Bear had was an increasingly loud (as distance decreased) "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" before she was plowed off her feet and phased through a tree by a high-speed tackling hug. "Bear!"

"EEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee! DaphnieeeeeeeeEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"

Bear was overjoyed, to say the least. And a joyous counter-hug was quickly applied.

"I heard from Mom that you were down here now!"

"I know! And now I can be a superhero and meet my own angel and be happy and oh goddess I can't keep saying all that teen-girl stuff with a straight face," Daphne said, starting out in a bubbly air-headed tone and breaking down into a giggly more-normal voice.

Bear smirked, punching her playfully on the shoulder.

"no need to keep up all the time. Just find a cool groove."

"I know! Everyone's so uptight here! How do they not explode!"

"Lots and lots of practice. And some Hampshire hugs."

Grinning, she took a seat under the tree.

"it's so great you're here.. I can't wait to show you around, and meet everyone!"

Daphne looked around, then grinned conspiratorially at Bear. "So... did they make the same 'oh my god, why is this girl hugging me!' faces when you got here?" she giggled.

"The first time, sure. But they always looked forward to the next one!"
