I10DT - On the Plus Side, We Get Another Family Reunion

[Rick Ferguson]

Rick was surveying the grounds as he walked alongside Kaylee.

"Well, they haven't changed things too much since I was here last. The real alterations to campus took place last night," he said as he walked past dead, bare earth and a broken wall.

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee smirked. She looked around curiously as being at XI was actually something pretty new to her.

"Hopefully there's some mutants that can restore the property as soon as possible. Probably won't be too good for all the students."

[Rick Ferguson]

"I'm sure they'll get the grounds spruced up again before long." Rick raised a hand to shield his eyes and saw someone very familiar jogging around the grounds. "I thought we might see her here," he said, smiling.

[Maggie Ferguson]

Maggie was wearing a tank top, athletic shorts and tennis shoes, totally in the zone as she was getting her workout.

[Kaylee Williams]

"Oh? Who's that?"

[Rick Ferguson]

"My sister. Hey! Maggie!" Rick waved vigorously.

[Maggie Ferguson]

It took her a second to get out of the zone, but Maggie turned to look toward them. "Rick! Oh my God!" She jogged closer. "I had heard that you were here, but they immediately sent us back to the dorms last night."

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee smiled brightly and almost squealed in excitement. "Apparently, the students that decided to defend the bunkers did a great job. I'm gonna guess you were one of them?"

[Maggie Ferguson]

"Yep! I got three of 'em! Well, more like two and a half, but still."

[Rick Ferguson]

"Oh God, it looks like they got to you, too," he said, looking pointedly at the bandage on her face...never mind that he was more bandaged up than she was. "There's no way you even have any combat training yet!"

[Kaylee Williams]

"Maybe the Ferguson family is just that hardcore?" She glanced over at Rick then held her hand out to Maggie. "In any case, nice to meet you Maggie! I'm Kaylee. Friend of your brother's and Marcus."

[Maggie Ferguson]

"Don't lecture me! We had to protect all the kids in the bunker!"

She shook Kaylee's hand. "I'm Maggie, good to meet ya."

[Rick Ferguson]

Yeah, the kids. Rick smirked and shook his head.

"Three, you said?"

[Maggie Ferguson]

"Huh? Oh, yeah."

[Rick Ferguson]

"That's my little sister."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Nice. If you're that good, maybe you should sign up for the X-team training when you're ready."

[Maggie Ferguson]

"Maybe. I don't know how many varsity sports opportunities I'll get from now on, so the X-Men may be the next best thing, ya know?"

[Rick Ferguson]

"Oh, definitely. Fighting supervillainy has so much in common with soccer," he deadpanned.

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee smirked as she glanced over at Rick. "Seeing what just went down, it might not be a bad idea for her to get all the training she could get."

"Besides, I think the danger room could keep up to date with your soccer practice." She said to Maggie.

[Maggie Ferguson]

"Yeah. And it involves keeping in shape, and working with a team," she pointed out to Rick.

[Rick Ferguson]

"And that's where the similarities end. Okay, Kaylee is right. It would be a very, very good idea for you to learn how to fight better. That's true for any mutant. No matter what, a lot of the world is going to hate us. Just don't think of it like another passtime like sports."

[Maggie Ferguson]

"But sports aren't just a passtime to me! The X-Men won't be, either."

[Rick Ferguson]

"As long as you put that much passion into it."

[Kaylee Williams]

"I'm sure she'll be good. That on top of power control classes and I think she'll be in a good spot."

[Rick Ferguson]

"Yeah. Maybe." He looked at the spot where Brett had died the night before, but said nothing of it. "So are you fitting in well here?"

[Maggie Ferguson]

"I guess so, yeah. No real friends yet, but I've met a few people, you know?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"You only just got here. It'll happen in time."

[Maggie Ferguson]

"Yeah, I think it will. So how much longer will you guys be here?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"I don't know. I guess we can take the ride back whenever we want." She said while looking over at Rick, seeing if he could confirm that or not.

[Rick Ferguson]

"I think so, yeah. Marcus and I really need to get back to Mary, anyway."

[Maggie Ferguson]

"Holy crap, I forgot to even ask you about that!! So you have her back in London, then?"

[Rick Ferguson]

"Yep! Everything went well with her adoption. Better than I had thought it would, really."

[Kaylee Williams]

"I'm still surprised it went through without a hitch. By the way, if you haven't chose a Godmother yet." She pointed at herself. "Right here. Or I at least get to be one of them."
