Alex blinked as he looked out the window. He hadn't believed it when he saw it from his own room, but somehow, looking from the common room window made things a little... more real. "Shit. Shit, this is... shit."

"What the heck's going on?" Kay asks as she steps into the common room, rubbing her eyes, momentarily forgetting that she's so not talking to Alex.

And it was at this point that one of the waited-for X-Men in question came down from his room, grim faced as he moved to a free window. It wasn't clear exactly what he was saying under his breath in Atlantean, but judging from his tone, he was probably swearing up a storm as he looked across the lawn.
