"I don't think anyone would rather get into a fight than anything," he reasoned. "Well, unless they like fighting, I guess. I'd rather flip them off or something to make them get lost. But yeah, if they're going to be a dick, I think I'd want to hit them." Shit, how do I sound right now? Think it over, think it over... not fixated? I mean, I'm not fixated, but I don't want to back out now... shit. This is complicated...

And at that she jumps back into the water head-first to hide her blushing. She zips along the bottom of the pool and doesn't seem to come up again. At least not right away.

He sighed. Shit. So... what now. You might've pissed her- no, wait, if you pissed her off she'd hit you. I mean, she hit you when she wasn't pissed off, so why wouldn't she hit you when she was? So... let's see... hell. Just keep swimming. So, sighing, he pushed back off the edge and started doing laps again.

After a while Kay comes up again in somewhat of a safe distance from Alex and pushes herself out of the water, sitting on the edge of the pool.

It took Alex another lap or two to notice that she was out of the water again. He stopped, looking across the pool at her for a minute.

And, feeling dumb sitting there staring, Alex started to swim again, though this time he drifted from his lane so that his path took him more in a Kay-ward direction.

Kay pulls her knees up to her chest and wraps her arms around her legs and gives Alex bit of a crooked smile as he gets closer.

Alex shook the water off his face as he caught onto the wall again, ending up accidentally closer to her than he'd intended, but not right up on her by any means. Ah well, play it off... "So is this some weird mix of hide and seek and tag in the pool?" he joked, resisting the urge to cringe right after he'd said it.

Shit. Alex felt her fingers brush against his legs and started to kick in a startled reaction, then at the last second forced himself to stop, not wanting to kick her. Just going to have to react to whatever she does, I guess...
