Re: The brave defenders

Postby Zeryn » Sun Apr 15, 2012 10:18 pm

Zeryn looked up as the three students made a break for the big fight and swore, knowing he wasn't in any position to chase after them. He glared back at the building, then strode toward it, intent on making sure that all of the other students were actually in there, in case anything else came their way.

"Well...I mean...I didn't think we would be," Oka said looking a little uneasy, "Just a bad joke."

"Oh. Okay." She blinked, but aside from being a little confused, she was unfazed. Then she turned where she was standing to face out across the grounds, her back to the entrance. "I've never been a security guard before. Not like I ever would anyway, but, you know, This is new." She kept a watchful eye for anything coming, though aside from Zeryn heading back to them, she saw nothing.

Haley glared at Alex and the two *other* girls as they took off. She'd been busying herself keeping mostly out of sight while picking henchmen at random and flinging them backwards. She *almost* felt like she could pick out exactly which ones she wanted to mess with too.

Asshole. I totally could've helped him better than that fugly skank he slept with and that other girl that he probably likes too. she fumed to herself before resolving that she'd just go after them. She was small, and she could probably dart after them without attracting *too* much attention...

Haley bolted from the bushes where she'd been hiding, harrying the foes who were trying to clamber over the small piled wall of their comrades, trying to do it when Zeryn wasn't looking so she could get past him and go show how much better than those *other* girls she was to Alex.

And as tired as Zeryn was, it didn't stop him from shooting an arm out and effortlessly plucking Haley up into the air as easily as someone might lift a small puppy, carrying her under his arm back toward the building as if she weighed nothing. "No," he said tiredly.

"I think we'll be experiencing a lot of new things while we're here," Oka said, "This is just the start."

"God damnit," Haley grumbled. "Would've been fine..."

Certainly better off than the terminally ugly hobag who's only gift is punching things with her man hands

"And you will be even more fine here," Zeryn said. "With luck, so will they."

"They'd be better with me there," she grumbled, not admitting her own uncertainty, especially now that she was looking at how beat-up Zeryn was after encountering a few of these guys who were clearly playing for keeps.

Nate faded into view, flicking blood off his knives. There was blood in his white fur, although it was hard to tell whether it was his or belonged to the minions or was a mixture of both. His uniform was different in some ways than the other faculty, but still carried the prominent X design. "In fights like this, there are no certainties except that people are going to get hurt. And there are more than enough in harm's way at the moment." He nodded to Zeryn, "You did good."

Haley's eyes widened as Nate appeared. You just don't disagree with a blood-stained werewolf, so she nodded her head wordlessly.

Zeryn nodded wearily as he set Haley down again. "Thank you, sir," he said glancing once longingly toward the lake.

"You do, however, realize that Ice Witch is going to serve you up as fish fritters for letting the students get involved at all, right?" Nate said with a chuckle as he glanced back towards the pile of minions that had built up around the doorway.

"we were totally safe," she reassured the scary werewolf. "He kept us from doing anything bad!"

"I could either get them into a place where I could make sure they were not being hurt, or have them run off to do whatever they wished. And no shark learns to defend itself by not being allowed to hunt," Zeryn said tiredly.

"For the record, I don't disagree with you, I'm just warning you." He wiped the blades down and slid them back into their sheaths on his forearms. "I personally think you did good on all counts. But that's entirely off the record." He grinned.
