September 4th: The stunt

[Winston Sharpe]

Winston twitched and shivered as he sat on the side of the bridge next to the base of Big Ben. The wind gusting upon him was chilling and he was wrapped tightly in his jacket.

Great, I leave early, have time to get lost in the city and still end up having to wait.

[Kathrin Schmidt]

A small wave that looks similar to what a motorboat would produce makes it's way over the river, the figure producing it eventually getting close enough for the short red hair to identify her before the water under her gets pushed down slightly in a perfect sphere, Kat throwing herself up on the bridge near Winston. Looking around for a moment she wonders. "Where's Miss 'I can be anywhere in one step'?"

[Winston Sharpe]

"Hi to you too, great to know I'm so appreciated," Winston hopped from his perch, folding his arms for warmth sake, though others might realise it wasn't particularily cold, "I dunno, I guess she's late...did you bring the cameras?"

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Man you're grumpy today. Hi Sharpe, splendid weather we're having today, huh? How are your classes? Really? Great. Bla bla." she chuckles and rolls her eyes at her own voice mocking the usual small-talk.

[Winston Sharpe]

"That's better," Winston tried to smile, but gave up and rubbed at his eyes, "Sorry, I've just been feeling like shit this morning...Wait, did you forget the cameras?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

A figure steps out of the darkness with a grin, running her hand through her hair Jayda is dressed in her usual leather jacket and jeans combo.

"Greetings Children, how are we this fine eve?" She chuckles and gives them a wink.

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Thrilled jumping the hell out of that tower!" she grins at Jayda.

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Okay, even for you Kat, that was some bad English!" Jayda chuckled. She pulled a rucksack off her back and threw it on the ground by Winston's feet.

"You going up the side with her or am I? You ever repelled before? Other than girls?"

[Winston Sharpe]

"Nup," Winston rolled his foot over the bag as he looked up at the tower, before shaking his head and slipping a cigarette carton out of his jacket pocket, "You go up, it'll be faster."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"I have a perfectly fine excuse for that." she jokes in reply to Jayda. "And if Winston wants up too you're gonna have to port him up there, Jayjay. I can't take people flying with me I'm afraid."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Alright, I can port topside easily enough. I rigged up some anchor points to harness into as well, so that we don't have a fatality from Explosive Lad over there." Jayda grinned.

"So, ideally it would be awesome if we could get topside, travelling and ground level footage.. but we are down a person. Maybe we can pull it from CCtv at some point..."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"We can just set up a tripod at the top or on the ground, depending on where Winston wants to stand."

[Winston Sharpe]

"I might stay down here," Winston said as he struggled with his lighter, glancing up at the height of the tower briefly, "I could get some good shots of the 'audience' from here too, some nice gasps and wails and such for background noise."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"If I get a perch about half way down then I will be able to get some good shots.. or maybe a tracking shot if I fall alongside you.." Jayda unzipped the bag and ran her fingers over the length of rope within.

"I think I have just about enough to pull up.. or I could shadow it. I need to be stealth either way.."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Or you just jump without anything, that'd get some reaction shots for sure." she chuckles, not really meaning it as an actual suggestion.

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Yeah maybe not," Jayda laughs though she does appear to have consider it previously.

"I didn't think total traumatising was what we were going for.. just shock value."

[Winston Sharpe]

"Really? I hear traumatising could be good, now I think about it there's quite a market out there for snuff videos." Winston mumbled in a way that one couldn't tell if he was kidding or not, before inhaling, rolling his foot underneath the rucksack and kicking it up to himself, "What's this again?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

"That is a little bag of props. I have in there a rig for repelling down the side of the building, gloves, powders and little things like that. I have also stashed a mini chute for base jumping but unfortunately Ben isn't really tall enough." Jayda grinned.

[Winston Sharpe]

"Wow," Winston opened the bag up a little and peeked inside, "Someone's prepared."

Winston coughed a little before shovelling into the bag and taking out a video camera, inspecting it for cracks, "Maybe tossing this to the ground isn't the best idea."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Jeez, what would you need all that stuff for anyway? I brought... my two cameras, that's about it."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Some of us do not have the luxury of being all anti-gravity and don't worry about the camera, its shock proof."

[Winston Sharpe]

"Neat." Winston dropped the camera back in the bag, "and I brought squat asides from my lovely self, though I guess that's all I had to bring."

Winston stretched a little before taking another drag, "Sooap, we wanna wait five minutes? Grab some food?" he exhaled and sighed, "Or do this?"

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"It's not like the 'chute is gonna do much good, but okay. Meet ya at the top?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Do you listen? Its not for Ben." Jayda rolled her eyes then rezipped the bag, she got to her feet and nodded her ascent to Kat. Turning to Winston Jayda gave him a grin.

"Think you got this under control?"

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Then why bring it? Eh, nevermind, doesn't matter." she smirks and gives a quick wave before blasting off towards Big Ben.

[Winston Sharpe]

"Sure, do you want me right underneath Kat? Or at an angle?" Winston suggested with a shrug.

[Kathrin Schmidt]

Stopping and hovering a few meters in the air she looks back at Winston. "Don't stand directly underneath. And make sure no one else does either. I'm going to jump off the side facing the Thames, so there shouldn't be anyone there anyway."

[Winston Sharpe]

"Aw, not into the crowd? Ok, your show, don't worry 'bout down here then, I've got it sorted."

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda met Kat at the top with a grin.

"Now we just need you to get yourself some attention... I'll go down over the edge a little and in this kit no one will even notice me."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Shouldn't take too long for one of the tourists to spot me..." Standing at the edge she looks down at the people on the side-walk taking photos and waves at them with both arms and jumps up and down for a while until she thinks some of them are bound to have spotted the figure on the iconic clock-tower.
She double-checks the camera she strapped to herself before looking at Jayda. "Ready?"

Winston looked up at the tower with a smile before his face showed great terror, "What the hell?"

Winston grabbed a passerby and pointed up at Kat, "Shit man, does that look like a person up there to you?"

"What? No, get off-Oh shit, HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THERE!" The passerby called out to what he presumed to be a suicidal girl.

Winston hopped onto the ledge of the bridge as a crowd of onlookers beganto form behind him, gawking and pointing at the figure on the tower. He turned his video camera on, aimed it at Kat and waited with a smile.

Giving Kat a nod, Jayda repelled silently and stealthily down the side, using shadow where she could to remain invisible. Flipping on the camera she zoomed it up the side of the building to focus on Kat.

"Here we go then!" she grins and spreads her arms out. Letting herself slowly fall forward she tries to wait until her fall has brought her into an almost horizontal position before pushing herself off of the building and going over the edge. Still keeping her arms spread she plummets past Jayda, falling faster and faster towards the ground, shouting out a loud "WOOOOOO!" during her descent.

Keeping a close eye on the ground she picks the last possible moment to use her powers to break her fall, grass, leaves and anything else on the ground nearby being violently pushed aside as Kat quickly slows down before coming to rest a few feet above the ground. She hangs there for the fraction of a second before the amount of force she used to break her fall catapults her away from the ground again and she goes flying away from Big Ben and out over the Thames.

Winston follows her descent with his camera, chuckling at the horrified screams of the crowd behind him. As Kat zooms away Winston turns his camera onto the suprised mob, figuring Jayda now has a much better view of Kat, he scans the shocked, confused and yelling faces and laughs.

Jayda kept her camera trained on Kat as she descended to street level, even managing a shot of the girls face as she neared the crowds. Following her slingshot back into the heavens Jayda could hear the screams of the crowd which slowly turned from panic into cheering and clapping, catcalls and hollers of fan-dom. Sirens sounded nearby and grew closer as Jayda pulled a bundle of flyers out of her pocket and scattered them down into the crowd as she made her way to the top of Ben to collect her gear.
