Issue 1 Downtime

After class, Zoe hangs out near the entrance to the underground. She's a bit more casually dressed today, a simple skirt not quite knee length and a t-shirt under a light jacket. Her cell phone is out as she kills time waiting for Will to show up.

Will spots his teammate, and waves. He's dressed in the other pair of capris Sara picked out, as well as a tight black tee, very short-sleeved.

"Hey there. Waiting long?"

"Naw, not long at all. Just catching up on XUNet stuff. Did you invite Victoria along, or did you wanna? Not sure what her class schedule's like today and I figgered your date is soon so 'twere best done quickly."

"If she wanted to come, that's fine...but, honestly, I'm not sure her taste in fashion quite runs along the same lines as mine. But, hey, she's got a good eye and all that--don't wanna bug her if she's too busy, but if she's free, why not."

"Kay, I'll send her a text and she can catch up if she wants." And with a few deft motions, the message is away. Zoe gestures towards the gates and down to the tube, "What's yer budget like? I'm getting a pretty good feel for what prices are where."

"I have my parents credit card, for use only in emergencies. I'd say 'not having any clothes' is an emergency--at least, that's the excuse I made for shopping in Mayfair with Sara..."

"Gotcha. Well then, we'll see how things go, no reason to break the bank, yeah?" The subway ride is noisy and crowded, but Zoe grills Will for more ideas in terms of what he's after and what he'd like to avoid.

"Not familiar with her, one mo." She does a quick web-search on her mobile and nods as a few hits start to come back, "Gotcha. The off-the-shoulder sleeve thing is nice, done well it's classy and sexy both. You gonna do your hair to match? Maybe with your power, it's coming back, yeah?"

"It is. I'll probably be able to do SOMETHING with it--I'm not sure what a cut or a dye would do when I'm able to shift fully again, so I'd rather avoid that--like I've been saying, I haven't gotten a haircut since I was...15."

"Must be nice. I go once a month or so, gets hella spensive." Zoe's keen eye picks out a decent mid-range store that often caters to the University crowd, offering modern styles on a student budget, "Lets hit up this place first. I remember seeing some nice stuff. Do you have shoes to go with?"

"...I have shoes..." Will said, a sort of blank expression on her face, as if "shoes to match outfit" was an entirely foreign concept.

"Worth a shot, at least...I'll try it on," Will said, thumbing through a rack.

"Man, I've actually gotta pay attention to sizes. Buying clothes for a non-shapeshifter is hard."

"Dude, you have no concept. Petite is fashion hell, 's why I learned to sew. I'd prolly go for something a little more modern myself but I'm not you." She pulls out one that should be close to Will's size. "Actually, I have another dress in mind for me, but they don't have it here so it'll hafta wait."

Will nodded. "Yeah, just one of the many advantage of shifting--if I like a shirt, I can wear it, even if it's not in 'my size'."

He pulls something off of a rack, and raises a questioning eyebrow.

Zoe nods approvingly, "Slick, I like. We'd have to get it altered for you, that sort of dress needs to be custom fitted. Definitely a good option. Hmm.. this one looks a little closer to the Kelly stuff I saw."

"That's exactly what I'm talking about. I'd rather alter for it. Ah well...I wonder if I could pull that off now, anyway..." Will added, thoughtfully, examining the dress carefully.

"Oh, that last one? A little....sheer, I suppose."

"Aside from the plunging neckline it's pretty modest. And even that's not too bad. You've at least got some stuff to try on though, lets see how they fall on you."

She tuts about and tugs at the fabric to make sure it's positioned correctly. "I'm biased, but I like it. I have a thing for asymmetric hems and the underbust detail is a nice added touch."

Will pauses, and looks in the mirror. "You know, I probably wouldn't consider it low-cut either, were it not on me. But you have to remember, I'm dressing up for Sara--you saw how she was blushing just thinking about...well, stuff. Something a LITTLE more conservative might be nice. Hard line to walk--don't want to embarrass Sara, but want to get Jess drooling."

"Well, here, hold still." Zoe hauls out her mobile again and snaps two shots of Will, one from the front and one 3/4 rear. "Now try on the next one and we can compare."

"Great, now you have photos of me, should I ever get out of control," Will chuckled, before going into the dressing room.

He came out after a bit longer wait, because he had managed to shift his body juuuust a little to better fit the red number he picked out. She was breathing a bit heavily as she came out, but it was fitting pretty well.

Zoe snapped another pair of shots before Will changed out, and again when he's back on the floor. "See, personally, I'd say that red dress is much more provocative than this one. They're both nice, but very different."

"Ears aren't pierced, not gonna get them pierced for the same reason I'm not gonna get a haircut. I may be able to shift a hole or something, but something THAT fine I'd be a little hesitant about until I get full control back."
