An Undisclosed Location.

The vampires had first taken Stan to a building in Mutant Town, where he had been stripped, dressed in a dark jumpsuit and then blindfolded. He was then carried back into the van, which drove around for some time before stopping. Once he was there, he was taken to a pitch black room, where his inhibitor collar was attached to a length of chain on the wall, just long enough to allow him to sit down and then he was left alone.

Having recovered more or less fully from the power sudden power drain, Stan started probing the collar and the chain, looking for weaknesses that would enable him to disable the collar or remove himself from the wall.

Unfortunately for Stan, he wouldn't have long to examine the collar. A dim light flickered on, just enough to reveal the outlines of the three attractive young women, dressed in only the briefest and filmiest of night-dresses who entered the room.

"Sapphira, Delilah, you're going to have to go easy on him." Berenice cautioned gently "He's had a long night."

"Don't worry." Delilah replied, as she got behind Stan pinning his arms behind him "We'll be gentle."

"Very, very gentle" Sapphira agreed, partially unzipping the front of his jumpsuit.

Stan winced, instinctively moving away from the vamp fiddling with the front of his jumpsuit.

"Please stop."

"Now, is that a nice thing to say?" Berenice said chidingly as she took her place beside the other vampire, opening up the front of his jumpsuit.

Stan's untoned body was exposed, now.

"Why are you doing this? What can I possibly have that you could want?"

Behind him, Delilah laughed, the sound one of genuine amusement

"Oh, you have all sorts of things that we want." Sapphira replied, and even in the dimness, Stan would be able to see her fangs appear.

"All sorts of things." Berenice agreed "But we'll start with blood"

"Awww, aren't they cute when they're defiant?" Sapphira said, smiling at Stan

"To each their own." Delilah replied "I like it when they cooperate."

"With luck, he'll make both of you happy." Berenice said, smiling as she licked his shoulder.

Stan had been kept in total darkness, at random intervals the vampires came in to give him food or water or empty the bucket that was in one corner of the room. So he would not be sure when one of the vampires came in with a medical kit.

"Hello Dr. Bowen. I'm here to give you a checkup." she said, flipping on the light.

When the lights came on, Stan was standing in the middle of the room. If he was distracted by the lights coming on, he didn't show it.

"May I ask why?"

"Because we need you to be in good condition." she replied, taking a step towards him "Will you let me examine you, or do I need to have you restrained first?"

Stan jostled the chain attached to the inhibitor collar attached to his neck.

"You mean more then this?" he said, smiling.

"As long as you don't get too invasive, young lady."

Stan was cautious, realizing the situation was not right to press an advantage.

"Thank you." she said, stepping forward and unzipping the front of his jumpsuit "Don't worry, I'll be gentle." she added with a little chuckle.

Stan was still on guard, but he did his best to appear relaxed.

"So, do you have a name? Or do I just call you Nurse?" he asked in a friendly tone as the examination continued.

"Herodias" she said, gently probing one of the healing bite marks on his shoulder. "Does that hurt?"

"Ah, it still aches a bit," he said. In fact, it did not hurt at all.

"So, what, if I may ask, are you kids up to here? abducting someone like me doesn't seem very nice."

"Neither are we." Herodias replied, something joking in her tone. "We took you because we need new blood, and you fit the bill." she took a few moments to probe the other wounds and then zipped his jumpsuit up.

"I'm flattered, I suppose." he said, smiling.

"And that wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. You're quite the doctor, Herodias."

"It doesn't take a genius to see that you're healing nicely, Dr. Bowen." Herodias replied "Have you been getting enough to eat and drink?"

"Oh, plenty. My compliments to the chef," he said, perhaps a little bit sarcastically.

"The facilities, however," he said, chuckling as he gestured to the bucket, "leave a bit to be desired."

"Still, we have to consider the safety of our staff. I'm sure you understand." Herodias responded "Would you like another blanket? I might even be able to arrange a pillow."

Stan walked to the wall, taking a seat.

"So, Herodias. is that your given name? Or a nickname? It's seems an bit.. biblical for nowadays."

Stan's smile disappeared as quickly as the light. He quickly went back to fiddling with the inhibitor collar, trying to loosen it or the chain it was attached to.

Sometime later, four vampires, two men and two women came into the room, their forms dimly visible in the light.

"Now, now." Sapphira said chidingly "Have you been trying to get loose, Stanley. That isn't very nice."

Stan smiled.

"Oh, that's nothing. My neck is just chafing. Might I suggest next time you get the deluxe, padded inhibitor collars?"

"Now, now, it isn't nice to lie..." Sapphira said as one of the male vampires came forward and caught Stan's arms behind his back. Sapphira examine the inhibitor collar, making sure that it was undamaged.

Other than a couple stress marks, the collar was, unfortunately, still functional.

"Satisfied?" Stan asked with a slight annoyed tone.

"Not quite yet." she said, smiling cruelly "But its not my turn to feed." she took a step back as Bathsheba and Absalom stepped forward and sank their teeth into Stan.

Of course, Stan struggled and fought back, as he always did. But against one, it was a longshot. Against three vampires..

Eventually, they got what they wanted.

After they had fed, Bathsheba and Absalom. Sapphira and the other vampire said behind "You can go now, Barabas." she said to him "He isn't going to hurt me in his condition."

Sapphira brought in some first aid supplies, and set about cleaning Stan up. "Why do you fight?" she said, chidingly "It would be much more pleasant for everyone if you didn't."

Stan was tired after his ordeal, both from the blood loss and the struggle.

"Why.. do you bite, then? A.. syringe would be just as.. effective, and not as.. distasteful? This is the.. 21st century, right?"
