May 23rd: Like we could have a Soccer issue without a Riot

Postby Rouen Coltaire » Fri Mar 04, 2011 6:33 pm

In front of the Japanese (and Genoshan) embassies, the protest, at the urging of Lynn, had spread into a VERY large protest, with people standing on tables and yelling, and shouting. Throughout the day, the protest had been getting louder and louder, and more and more vehement, as more and more people showed up, with remarkable equipment and things.

In the midst of the crowd, two skinheads, glancing at eachother, nodded. One spoke into his wristwatch.

The next moment, a petrol bomb was lit and thrown into the yard of the Japanese embassy, triggering hearty cheers from the protesters, and starting people banging on the gates ever louder.

Down the block, a couple stolen vans, driven by Rouen "Wingnut" Coltaire, and Ropiari "No Idea What his Real Name Is" pulled up, carrying an elite strike force--the X-Undercover-Squad, as it were. As well as a third van, silently parked behind them, with contents and driver unknown.

"Well. Seems like we've shown up just in the nick 'o time," Wingnut said. "You've got the best pictures we could get of the freaks who hit us, and hit us hard, settin' this shit up. I don't wanna see them walkin' out, are we clear?"

Watching the rioting masses from the van Kat doesn't have to do much undercover-work to get royally pissed at the drivel-spewing bigots.

"Alright, let's fuck these assholes up."

Chloe was silent, as she'd just shifted and was putting on her new fighting spurs. The ones with the razor sharp inside blades.

Bobby clanked his covered fists together, hoping this would die down soon. He was missing Lucy.

Stepping out, he made a beeline to the protesters.

Dropping all pretense for subtlety Kat jumped. Bridging the gap between them and the riot she slams down in the middle of the assembled humans in a distorted bubble of gravity.

Panic! Scattering!

And more than a few people willing to charge into the gap to give Kat a good ol stick to the face.

Scattering was all well and good, but this caused some of the masses to try to get away from the onrushing storm.

This led them onto the grounds of both the Japanese embassy...

...and the Genoshan embassy next door.

Meanwhile, back in the fight, the two skinheads who started the thing split up, as they encouraged more people to charge--not that the mob needed much encouraging, all very loud and eager to hit people, the waves surging forward.

One kept rattling off into his wristwatch.

The watch-less wonder pulled out a small handgun and started firing shots at the birdy.

The watch-wearing weirdo yelled "Juice! Juice!" into his watch, and looked up.

The crowds started banging on the doors to the embassy proper.

Cal looked around, then just decided to cut loose a bit. HAL, mass-targeting.

Code: Select all
Mass targeting enabled.

He hung back from the group a bit, watching the targets line up in his HUD, then smiled when he saw the right configuration. HAL, modulating taser-level current. Aim at the fence on my mark. MARK!

Electricity arced through the gates surrounding the Japanese embassy, sending several people to the ground twitching as the electricity overloaded them like a taser would. He started lining up another strike, making sure none of the ones he stunned got trampled in the meantime.

"Ha! Nicely done, Strong," Wingnut said, taking a couple big steps and launching himself high into the air.

From out of the midst of the crowd, a man in a strange black bodysuit, tightening a strip of metal around his knuckles, strode towards Cal, walking over the tazered bodies.

Lora was walking to the Genoshan embassy to report in for work, when she saw the commotion that had stayed around the Japanese embassy start to spread. Then she caught Nick, and that German chick who was always with him.

"Open season on the flatscans? No, I couldn't be that lucky." Still, she ran over to see what was going on and if she could help.

Bobby was pretty strong, but there was a SHITLOAD of people, charging, charging, charging, overwhelming him.

"ARGH!" the skinhead shrieked as the razor-sharp talons pierced his flesh, but he kept running, rolling under a parked car.

Meg kept a bright aura of electricity dancing around her, making it difficult to get a direct look at her. Things were going to get nasty quickly, and with people like Kat enjoying herself a bit too much, Meg looked for a method to keep the chaos from exploding into something that would get innocents killed.

She spotted Bobby being attacked and flew over to help him. With a cry, she sent a very large blast down, centered on him. Meg trusted that his ability to absorb the bulk of the blast would keep him unharmed while what was left over would more or less duplicate what Calvin had just accomplished.

Meanwhile Kat continued to have maybe a little too much fun, though as long as she wasn't being rushed by the masses she mostly kept to regular punches and kicks. Though when people started to advance to the embassies she ducks under a punch, retaliating with a blast to the guys stomach that sends him flying back into the mob. After a quick look around she figures Bad Things™ are about to happen if too many people push into the embassies and the air around her begins to distort as she focuses on the ground, attempting to root as many people as she can reach in a radius around her by ramping up the gravitational pull of the earth.

Chloe's target wiped some of the blood from his face, and tried to get a good shot from under the car. This was very difficult, and he wasn't successful.

Kat was successful in keeping a large amount of people rooted to the ground, but one began to draw out a bottle from a satchel, working to free his lighter, as well.

Nick kicked his guy in the face, causing the guy to fall down, and spit back up at him. "You fucking mutie pig."

Nick mentally shoved the spit back in the guys face as he landed.

"Now, let's see what we have here," he smirked, undoing the watchband and floating it to himself while taking it apart.

Nick's eyes went red as he both jumped aside and used all the power and precision he could muster to deform the bullet into less aerodynamic, less piercing state.

Kat's control over the routed masses dwindles a bit as she tries to send the molotov-cocktail flying into the air, preferably before it's lit.

Nick, apparently faster than a speeding bullet, managed to dive out of the way, and dull the bullet enough that it hit harmlessly to one side.

And then he fired again.

Kat WAS able to send the molitov into the air, but only after it was lit. AND reducing her grip on the crowd caused them to slowly surge forward again.

And now she had a lit molitov cocktail! Woo!

And, once more people began surging against the doors of the embassy.

Nick could see a man with a sniper rifle reloading on the fourth floor of one of the office buildings across the street, attempting to get a good shot at him.

In the far distance, sirens could be heard.

And that was about the time she heard the gun-shot ringing out. By the time the second one had been fired she had managed to pin-point it to a couple of windows from her perspective up in the air and sends the molotov flying towards where she suspects the gunman.

Kat's aim wasn't perfect, but it was good enough to smash into the side of the building, causing quite a fire and the man inside to quickly duck back.

Which he did so, though possibly smashing his head somewhat on the outer wall.

The man in question had already gone down the stairs, and the one he had left behind scrambled to his feet and started running away.

The third, mysterious van, roared into life.
