Issue 1 Downtime

Logan's tastes ran to a fairly raucous pub in Camden, where he apparently was recognized by the bartender. With a nod, a bottle of whiskey and two shot glasses were brought to a waiting booth, which Logan sat down in.

"So," he said as he squared his gaze on Cassiel.

"So. I suppose I might not want to risk my reaction time with alcohol," he said mildly.

"Dunno why ya'd say that. You an' me are gonna be real good pals, Asters."

"I thought we were all pals already," he said, picking up his shot glass and taking a shot.

"Right, right. Yer gettin' it."

Logan poured himself a shot and drank it.

"Dolphins were yer idea, or...?"

"Not particularly, but who am I to say no when she wants something?"

"Ain't that the truth?"

"Absolutely. That's the line I'm supposed to use now, right? To keep from being introduced to adamantium punctures?" he said, smirking a bit.

"Well, I ain't ventilatin' you yet, am I?"

"Or attempting to," Cassiel amended amicably. He wasn't, after all, sixteen anymore.

"Whatever helps ya sleep."

"O' course, you ain't th' first fella I've had this little heart t'heart with."

"I'm sure I'm not," he said. "Is it good to know you don't have to worry about having it again?"

"Believe me, I'm hopin' that's true."

"Oh, so am I," Cassiel mused, pouring another shot for each of them.

"Been a lotta water under th' bridge since I first met ya, Asters."

"It's been about fifteen years," Cassiel said. "Water tends to build up in that long."

"Ain't exactly th' kid I knew, but then again I ain't expectin' ya t'be."

"Well, again, fifteen years," he said. "Mm, haven't had whiskey in far too long. Very good," he said, pouring another.

"Clears yer sinuses out. Clears yer everything else out, too. Just don't do shots with Summers, yanno?"

"I don't think I'd be able to tell if he was drunk or not. Or does he liven up some when you put a few into him?"

"Oh, he livens up. He livens up by tellin' ya th' drinks ain't doin' nothin' to him. Then he excuses himself ta take a piss, and gets about three steps before givin' the floor a real thorough inspection," Logan said with a smirk.

"Yeah, that sounds about right," Cassiel mused, smirking. "Great guy to have at your back... not the guy you'd want to plan your bachelor party, though."

"Hell if I ever figured out why they let 'im DJ that homecoming dance."
