"Honey, I'm home." Rachel said as she walked in the door of their (hopefully temporary) new home.

Ryan held up a finger as he finished a phone call, and a rather terse one at that. Tossing his phone onto the bed, he turned around to face Rachel. "Well, the insurance company hates me already. Must mean I'm doing a good job."

"Joy, joy and happiness." Rachel said, settling down next to him on the bed.

"Oh, come on, none of that. I'm the one who's supposed to be morose and negative," he chuckled, sliding his arm under her.

"You've seen through my plot." Rachel said, kissing him back "Maybe we should get you to babysit Robin again. That seemed to put a smile on your face."

"Mack had people looking for work who aren't on the teams." Rachel said "So he let me go."

Ryan looked dumbfounded. Then, looking absolutely irate, he tried to extricate himself to grab his phone. "Ready to see the wrath of god come down on a moron bartender?" he asked, his fingers brushing the phone as he tried to grab it.

"Ryan, no." Rachel said, covering his hand "Its ok. When I have to 'bugger off to go on a mission' it means he has to find coverage at the last second, and that does suck."

"So you lose your job because you go out and risk your ass so that he can sit there and sell beer. The hell with that," Ryan growled, making a little lunge and knocking the phone onto the floor. "Damn it..."

"And he's getting paid by the university to do it," Ryan growled, abandoning the grab for the phone now that he couldn't hope to reach it. "Well, I'll spread the word around. Anyone on the X-Teams is going to love hearing about this."

"To be fair, I was going to give notice at the end of this semester." Rachel said "I don't think I can do my last year and work at the same time."

"If you need money that badly I'll pay you not to strip. For other people," Ryan ammended, smirking a little. He curled his arm around her, pulling her close. "We'll find something else for you, babe. Just try not to stress about it."
