A large section of Camden was missing.

It had been there at one point. And then in a flash of light it was just gone. Replace by an empty stretch of dirt.

Traffic was being directed away from it as the local bobbies waited for someone to show up that could handle the weird stuff.

Bobby stood on the edge of the void, scratching his head and looking at the vast... nothing.

"Huh."

Kev held up his scanner doodad.

"I'm detecting large quantities of what-the-fuck-atons... or something... I can't read this thing."

For one, it was upside-down.

He did so.

"Oh. Right. Much better."

"Probably what we are all thinking already," Bobby said, chucking a pebble across the void.

The readings around the edges were off the charts but inside the perimeter it was a dead spot for any sort of chronoton radiation or tachyon emissions. Even weirder was the fact that they were getting a weird doubling effect. Almost like an echo.

"Chronoton radiation and tachyon emissions are off the charts, but not on the inside."

"Also, echo-echo-echo..."

"Yep. Camden is in the future. Or the past. Or something."

"If it went backwards it'd be here, just old... right?"

"Or so far back, that it completely disintegrated... damn. I'm getting a headache thinking about it. Point is, the chronotons paint a pretty good link to the M Industries disappearance."

"What if it switched places, or rather times, with itself? Then we could be seeing how this area looked in the past or in the future, and the echo might be the one that's supposed to be in the present?"

"That makes a good amount of sense," Bobby agreed, taking some of his own readings.

"The trick is finding if we can initiate a switch back, or if we need to pool data first from the other trouble spots.."

"These dimensional breakdowns are a pain in the ass..." Kat mumbles and hovers back from the edge a bit, half expecting, who knows, dinosaurs or some shit, to pop up.

Bobby shifted to silver, and planted his feet.

"Pete Wisdom. What a guy." he said, smirking.

"CATALOG...."

A screeching voice erupted from speakers in the gigantic segmented robot. Bright blue eyes scanned the group.

"CAPTURING FOR ANALYSIS"

A row of metal spines grew out of it's back and began firing needle like bolts at the group.

Undeterred, the Robopede open it's maw shooting a wave of sticky web at Bobby.

Bobby took the blast slightly deflected, as he was in an elongated state. Still, his torso was stuck to a nearby wall.

"Yeah, this is going to take a moment.."

"Oh, look at the nice robot that just revealed the part of it we want to disable first."

Captain Britain flew around, and tried to aim a punishing strike of the Star Scepter at the creature's jaw assembly as she swooped in.

"The hell is he talking about?" Kat asks no one in particular as she reverses the gravity in the spot Kevin's standing and shoots him up into the air and at the centi-bot.

Janice and Kev's attacks neatly destroyed the thing's jaw, causing it to stagger to the side.
