March 22 - Myeong's

[Ethan Cheng]

Their ride pulled up to the front door of the restaurant. The driver got out and opened Averi's door, but Ethan got out himself. He reflexively tipped the driver without even looking at him.

"Outside looks okay. Wonder if it'll be any good."

[Averi Cheng]

"Hopefully it will be." She said, bowing to the driver then heading over to stand beside Ethan. She looked the place over then headed for the front door.

[Ethan Cheng]

The place certainly had an East Asian motif inside, but it was thankfully subdued. They were lead to a table with a small grill in the middle and handed their menus.

"Been a while since I've done this..."

[Averi Cheng]

"It's been awhile for me too." She said as she looked through the menu. "By the way, Victoria wanted to let you know that she wasn't angry at you or judging you badly really either."

[Ethan Cheng]

"Oh God, you talked to her?" He pressed the heel of his palm against his brow.

[Averi Cheng]

"I'm pretty sure I told you I was going to." She smiled. "There's no need to worry. Everything's well and she doesn't think bad of you...she's just..going through a lot." She nodded her head, having chosen what she was going to get and set the menu down.

[Ethan Cheng]

"I thought you might talk to her after thing, I dunno, cooled down a little bit." He sighed, setting his down as well. A waiter came by and they placed their orders.

"How did I manage to get myself into this?"

[Averi Cheng]

"Nope. I meant right after," she said matter o' factly. She quirked a brow. "That's good news. Don't get all upset."

She sipped her water. "Possibly by doin' the same things you've warned me about doing all the time."

[Ethan Cheng]

"I just didn't want you sleeping around with those beneath you," he muttered, with a sigh. "But I guess that can't be helped."

[Averi Cheng]

"I suppose it can not. Especially here, there aren't very many at our level or above here. Though I'd be lying if all the dates that I've gone on with such were wonderful or made me even slightly feel good about myself being with them."

She set her glass down then folded her arms on the table, leaning in a little. "So, what are you going to do if you are the Father?"

[Ethan Cheng]

"If that's how it is, then I'll...I'll take responsibility for the child." After getting that out, Ethan looked worried. Too vulnerable somehow, and too young.

[Averi Cheng]

She quirked a brow but kept her mouth shut. She glanced around the room for a moment. Mainly, she was pondering how their father would take this.

"You know, if you're worried, Victoria does want to handle most of everything to herself. You could keep things..under wraps for awhile."

[Ethan Cheng]

"Yeah. That would really make me look like a responsible guy once the news finally broke."

[Averi Cheng]

"You already offered your help. She'll take it when she feels she needs it. I'm sure you'll be there for her when she asks." She smiled. "You're already being responsible."

[Ethan Cheng]

He had to nod along with that one. "You're right. For now."

[Averi Cheng]

"Besides, there's only so much you can do with the mother unwilling to deal with any of the fathers. You should enjoy your time and relax until we find out who's really the father. After that, you can sweat all the bullets you like."

She quirked a brow. "Though I'm gonna hope..it's not yours for the child's sake. I mean...I really don't know how this stuff with dad is all going to turn out."

[Ethan Cheng]

He groaned. "How the hell would I break this to dad, anyway...?"

[Averi Cheng]

"Something that clearly avoids the idea you were even in an orgy obviously.." She sipped some of her water. "Just tell him that you were dating Ms. Valentine..and it just kind of happened. Not quite the truth but I'm sure father will buy it."

[Ethan Cheng]

"Yeah, don't say a word about the orgy." He shook his head. "Until we know who the dad is, I;m not going to say anything."

[Averi Cheng]

"That was the initial plan. But it's not bad to be prepared for the idea if you are. Not to mention, we don't need the Black Cannon having more..potential targets."

[Ethan Cheng]

"You're right." A few moments later, their food came by.

"So not a peep about anything until I know for sure. Right?"

[Averi Cheng]

"You have my word." She said then smiled when the food arrived.

"Of course. I could always get pregnant by Claudius and then you won't have to feel as bad. We can go in there, talking to Father together." She couldn't keep herself from laughing.

[Ethan Cheng]

"You and that farmboy," he said, rolling his eyes. It still made him smirk though. "Don't bother with getting pregnant. Just bring him along and show him to father."

[Averi Cheng]

She huffed. "God. You hold so much disdain for the boy. In the very end, do you think Father will care that much about his upbringing?" She started to cook some of her meal. "I don't remember mom being incredibly high on and social levels...and neither were we."

She found defending Claudius rather pointless because in the end, she'd do what..and who she wanted.

[Ethan Cheng]

"I'm learning to live with it," he said after a beat. "I still say you could do so much better, but it's your life," he conceded, sounding resigned.

[Averi Cheng]

"I'm not denying that. That was actually a rather handsome gentlemen named Derek that asked me out a few days ago.." She said, pondering about the man for a moment. "He was sweet..but honestly, I don't think any of the men here quite fit up to the social graces you or Father would be approving of."

[Ethan Cheng]

"Funny you should say that. I met British nobility just recently, a mutant who goes to Xavier's. He seemed like a good guy."

[Averi Cheng]

She quirked a brow at him. "Is that so?"

[Ethan Cheng]

"Sure is. He's going to be the Duke of Wellington one day. He even invited us to visit his family's ancestral mansion here in London sometime."

[Averi Cheng]

"Oh..that was nice of him." She thought for a moment. "Well, let me get right to the point. Is he attractive?"

[Ethan Cheng]

"How should I know?"

[Averi Cheng]

"I don't know. Think of the men I normally find attractive..then factor in whether or not this new friend of yours holds some of the same characteristics."

[Ethan Cheng]

"Sure. I think you'll like him," he says, brushing off the subject.

[Averi Cheng]

Averi smiled. "Okay. I'll trust you on that one."
