Sept. 7 - An Afternoon Out

Rick walked with Marcus over to Chinatown, thinking some east Asian cuisine might be in order.

"I wonder what this one will be like compared to New York's?"

"I'm guessing probably just as good. Then again, I never did really get to fully explore the place. Too much was always going on back at school, leaving us trapped on campus for one reason or another."

"True." He folded his arms over and looked around. Marcus was excited about being there. He was a big asian-culture fanboy. "Too bad we weren't here earlier for one of the Chinese New Year parades."

"I'm always hungry," He said with a smirk. He then lifted his arms and flexed, playfully showing off the guns. "Gotta fuel this somehow."

He laughed at all of the posing. "Be still, my heart!" Not that he didn't like Marcus being ripped.

"So food first, my starving sweetheart?," he said with a smirk.

He gave Rick a rather goofy grin then lowered his arms.

"Sure thing!" He said while throwing his fist out into the air. He was pretty excited about something. He looked around, beginning the search for a nice resturant. "Hm..I'm sure most of these places have good food."

"Well, we probably need to eat on the cheap when we can. But maybe there's some good stuff that isn't 30 pounds a person." He approached a place called Little Wu Chinese Restaurant...didn't look too ostentatious. Perfect. "Let's give this one a shot."

"Fine with me." He walked into the resturant. It wasn't long before they were seated. He plopped down in his chair with a sigh and opened the menu, more than ready to eat.

"Spare ribs in black bean sauce and rice, with a water, please," he told the person taking their order.

"I'll take the shreded chicken and noodle. Water for me too please." He closed the menu and handed it to the waiter.

"Sure." He smiled. He stretched his arms out across the table, yawning a little. He drummed his fingers along the table as he looked around.

"Sweet." He smiled, glad he wasn't asked more about yesterday for two big reasons. "Woo! Food!" He smiled at the waiter. He thanked the waiter then whipped out the chopsticks.

Rick doused is rice with some soy sauce...and then completely ignored in favor of the meat. "God, I haven't had ribs in forever. How's yours?"

"Pretty good. You can have some if you want." He replied while sliding his plate a bit closer to Rick. Only after he picked up some noodles for himself, twirling them around his chopsticks.

Rick nodded, dropping his ribs before gathering just enough noodles to taste on a fork. "Good stuff. You can have a rib if you want."

He moved back to his own food before continuing. "Think you'll get along well with your team?"

Rick didn't have to tell him twice and he reached over, snagging one of the ribs.

"Yeah. I really don't see a problem with any of them honestly. At the same time though, they're all pretty strong. If I ever had to buff up any of them, I think I'd just make the team overpowered." He chuckled. "Last mission, all I got to do was drive the truck."

"They seem cool enough. Victoria's pretty awesome in a fight, I must admit. And I think I told you what happened with Merle. Oy." He shook his head. "But she really...got into it, when I was interrogating Mr. Finn. As in, using a fucking whip." He spoke this last part very low, so no one could hear their business.

Marcus was quiet for a moment. He really hoped London was going to be different. "Well, despite that guy, mutants have some really good PR in London now. It's thanks to us helping out. So, not only did his plan fail, but it blew up in his face."
