M Industries: The Final Assault
((Prologue))
The offices of M Industries had been shut down for investigation following the attack on Parliament. The offices were vacated except for a combination of X-Corp personnel and military forces that were working in unison as investigators.
A small command center had been set up on the grounds of the building, Several analysts were reviewing data that had been reclaimed while some of the senior members of the team were discussing their next step into securing the building.
One of the analysts began to yawn, looking extremely tired. His boss shot him a glare from across the room.
“We’ve recovered enough data and technology to substantiate the University’s claims,” Lt. General Harding said, briefing the others, “Preliminary results show that his plan was simple. Take over the world. A recovery of Mr. Cain’s personal files indicate he’d attempted this on many different worlds. All with different measures of success.”
“Are there any clues to where he might have gone?”
“None,” Harding said grimly, “We’re not even sure why he abandoned the facility. There was enough security and firepower to easily make this a primary base of operations. We’re still exploring the building, but it seems like there was substantial effort in designing everything from the security systems to the architecture.”
One of the older men at the table frowns, rubbing his eyes, “Architecture?”
Harding nods, trying desperately to stifle a yawn, “The analysts from X-Corp could tell you more. But their findings show that several of the upper level structures were designed with some sort of psi-reactive material…..There was some sort of function to the building itself…that was never utilized.”
“Obviously, he was chased off before he could use it.”
“Or…” a younger man sitting at the table suggested, breaking into a grin, “He thought it’d be child’s play to retake the building.”
The young man sipped his tea, watching the last of the men in the room collapse around him. Standing up, he walked over to the bank of computers and began typing as he spoke aloud. The image of a young officer of X-Corp melting away to reveal Doctor Tomorrow himself.
“Nurses. Bring the package in through the front. Clear the interior of any guards and prep the machinery,” Dr. Tomorrow said, sending the collected data to the University before cutting off communications, “I’ve already arranged the party.”
As dark shapes began moving into the building, the sounds of screams and mad laughter began filling the grounds.
The Doctor was in.
