Issue 1 Downtime

Jayda and Madison managed to evade the guards and make their way into the lab without many problems. Madison smiled as she took a look around.

"That's what I love about these billionaire superheroes," Madison says, "They always have the best toys."

"Think I could get some sort of sponsorship? I could tattoo the Stark logo to my forehead or something, in exchange for toys?" Jayda gazed around her in wonder.

"I wouldn't bet on it," Madison says, "Dude's pretty protective."

"Awww but look at all these pretty things...." Jayda said crestfallen, her fingers stroking over a nearby tool of violence.

"Things like this are made for girls like me."

Madison grins, glancing over at the testing range, "Want to try it out?"

Jayda looked down at her drapey silky dress then over to the gun before glancing back at Madison.

"Got to learn how to shoot in heels at some point right?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

"..for undercover work."

"That's the spirit," Madison says with a grin.

"So how many spirits has it been, Ms West?" Jayda chuckled. She picked up the gun and studied it quietly for a moment, her fingers lightly tracing over the smooth metal as her eyes devoured the details.

"It has buttons on it. What do you think it does?"

"Probably multiple firing modes," Madison says, moving closer to Jayda to take a look.

"Only one way to find out." Jayda unlocked the safety and raised the gun, pressing a yellow button she aimed it towards the other end of the testing range. Her arms sagged a little and she adjusted for the weight, repositioning her feet to account for the heels as well.

"Its a little heavier than I am used to, wonder what its packing?"

"Only one way to find out."

Jayda signaled that she had heard, already intently focusing on her target as Madison finished her sentence and squeezing the trigger a split second later.

Rather than a bullet shooting forth from the barrel the gun gave a high pitched whine and a barrage of light pulses followed each other in rapid succsession, fanning out as they neared the target at the other end, severing the head from the dummy with a minimum of fuss.

"Sweet. Wonder if it cauterises."

Madison gives a low whistle, "Neat. Decapitation ray."

"Chances of getting one for my personal entertainment?"

"Maybe we'll try to get Stark to make a deal with the Armory," Madison says, taking a large rifle down off the wall.

"Who better to test new toys then students with their very own danger room?" Jayda lay down her gun and approached Madison with a smile.

"Beautiful."

Madison strokes the gun with a grin, "I'd be jealous, but it is a damn nice gun."

"You aren't the jealous type are you, Madison?" Jayda tilted her head and watched her curiously.

"I can be," Madison says, "Depends on the situation."

Madison hefts the rifle and takes careful aim at a target.

"So what's the situation then?"

Madison shrugs, pulling the trigger. The target explodes in a flash of light and Madison sighs happily.

"That...was beautiful."

Jayda nodded in agreement, pulling herself up onto a table to watch Madison, a quiet smile on her face as she did so.

"Yep, beautiful. Its good to meet someone else with an appreciation for these moments."

Madison nods, setting the gun down next to Jayda.

"Can you imagine that thing on the field? It'd be practically orgasmic."

"Come on now, don't brag. You know my only field stuff, other than basic maneuvers with my old brat pack, has been X-men vampire hunting or danger room" Jayda chastised.

"and even then every goody two shoes bastard was sermonizing to me about the wrong of my ways."

"Lumis has seen what you can do, trust me. He'll put you on the right sort of team soon enough."

Jayda's smile lifted a little high on one side, she was pleased at the comment but wasn't going to go girly about it.

"Covert Ops? Deep Undercover? Recon work - you get captured, we don't know you sort of stuff? One can but dream."

"You going deep undercover for Lumis might be one of those situations I'd get jealous over," Madison teases.

Jayda tilted her head curiously.

"Whatcha mean?"

"It was innuendo, girly pants."

"I figured but you aren't jealous of Kev."

Madison shrugs, "I am. A little. But I think the whole 'choose between us' bit is stupid. If you want to be with us both, I'll just focus on the fact that you want to be with me. Y'know?"

Jayda nodded.

"I'm glad, at this stage I don't know if I could choose - you are both so different but I definitely want to be with you."

"And that's all I really care about," Madison says, leaning forward and giving Jayda a quick kiss.

Jayda grabbed her by the collar as she tried to pull away.

"Really? Is that all?" She kissed Madison again lingering for long moments before pulling away with a grin.

"Did I tell you how hot you look right now, Ma'am?"

"I don't think you've mentioned it," Madison says, "Though I know I've been watching you rock that costume this entire night."

"You've been watching me?"

"Just a little," Madison says, sliding her hand up Jayda's lower back.

"See anything you like?" Jayda slipped her arm across Madison's shoulders, arching slightly at the touch.

"Think I did, actually," Madison says, kissing Jayda's neck and sliding her hand up along her thigh gently.

"Was it that chocolate mud cake, because that looked totally delicious?"
