Issue 1 Downtime

The Airport is bustling, except at Terminal 5, where the police have cordoned off the area. Once, it might have been a force set to arrest the notorious Magneto. But now, the police merely keep reporters and other onlookers away, standing almost like an honor guard.

Lumis is standing at the terminal, quietly waiting for the plane to finish taxi-ing in. He has a calm, pleased look about him, dressed in a nice black suit with his shirt and tie in the university colors. Around him are a few students that were chosen to come with him for the big moment. He watches them without turning his eyes toward them, curious to see how they're reacting.

Cassiel joined Lumis, after a few moments of turning away members of the over-eager press. He was dressed in a white suit with a dark purple shirt and red tie. "This, I believe, is why we kept landing facilities at the school in New York," he sighed, shaking his head as he joined his colleague.

"We have landing facilities at the school, but I wanted Magneto to see the London Police honoring him." Lumis smiles.

"Respecting him. Big difference. Trust me," Cassiel said, his mind focused on the crowd behind him. "A good lesson in respect for them, though. Should prove valuable."

Lumis shrugs. "It's all the same right now. He wouldn't get this reception in any other city in the world, save Genosha."

Sara stood behind Cassiel wearing a black business suit, with opaque stockings and closed toe heels. The heart choker could easily be seen around her neck. "Thank you for inviting me to join on this important occasion." She spoke to both Mr. Taylor and Mr. Asters.

"You're welcome. It's good to have some student representatives around. Remember, feel free to address Magneto, but don't hound him. And if someone should be so stupid as to attack him, you are to help defend his person."

Jayda stood to the left and slightly behind Lumis, her eyes taking in the scene calmly, her hands behind her back. She had situated herself to the best advantage in this small retinue, her line of sight through to the private jet clear.

Dressed in a black suit and charcoal shirt with her hair swept backwards into a ponytail, her jacket was unbuttoned in what would seem to an outsider an overly casual way but gave her easy access to her gun if this proved necessary. She was aware that this wasn't an amateur operation but it wasn't in her not to be ready for anything.

Her eyes phased between as she occasionally glanced down into Cassiel's shadow checking the points that she had picked as being prime for any type of attack.

"Understood, Mr. Taylor." She spoke quickly, glancing around at the other members of the group.

To Jayda's left stood Bear, dressed in a yellow jacket and knee length skirt with a white blouse.

She was nervous, meeting such an infamous VIP, but she smiled nonetheless.

And under Jayda's advice, she had brought a small handbag with her, with a few choice balls. just in case.

Ryan stood at the edge of the group next to Bear. He stood in a black suit, his hands behind his back and wings spread. He was prominent in the group, but stood intentionally on the fringe.

Sara smiled at Bear and glanced at Ryan..she reminded herself she needed to apologize to him at some point for the dining hall incident..

Bear gripped Ryan's hand for support, looking on at the skyway door.

The terminal door opens, and Magneto strides through. He's getting older, of course, but He's not letting that stop him, at least not right now. Dressed in red, in a custom outfit that is reminiscent of his battle-garb, while still being appropriate for a political figure, he makes for an impressive sight.

He walks up to Lumis, confidantly.

Lumis takes the man's hand, and shakes.

"Lumis, pleased to see you again."

Lumis smiles. "Overjoyed to see you again, Magneto. Welcome to London. I believe you already know Cassiel, I brought a few students to meet you as well. This is Closer, Dominion, Seraph, and Ms. McDohl."

Magneto looks at each student in turn, nodding to them. He motions to the man next to him, "My acolyte, Exodus."

"It is an honor, sir." She spoke to Magneto..bowing her head slightly.

Ryan bowed slightly at Magneto's gaze, enough to be respectful, not enough to be considered overly enamored.

"Sir." Jayda nods her head in deference, her eyes slipping to the acolyte studying him for a moment before phasing back out quickly then back in to refocus on the group around her.

Bear bowed as Magneto's gaze passed over her, more to avoid his powerful eyes then anything else.

"S..Sir.."

"It's ok, Byrna..", her voice echoed within the girl's mind soothingly. "Breathe..." She continued..while holding a smile toward Erik Lehnsherr.

Ryan laid a reassuring hand on Bear's back subtly as they stood there, waiting for all the greetings to be finished.

Magneto looks at Sara, says, "Tell me, how do you like your London University?"

Bear took a deep breath and stood back up straight, turning to Sara and mouthing "thank you" with a slight smile, before turning back. and grasping ryan's hand warmly.

Sara blunk for a moment..not expecting to be really noticed... "I have only arrived a few weeks ago, however, so far it has not been a terrible experience.." She told him blankly. "I am having a few issues adjusting, but nothing that can not be overcome."

"You're welcome, Byrna.. Just stay calm..'kay?", she spoke to Byrna quickly.

Cassiel, in the meantime, had his eyes fixed on the newly introduced accolyte approaching, sharing a glare with the man that, if looks could kill, would have left both men vaporized on the spot. Then he turned his attention to the man who was the only real father figure he had known. "Lord Magneto," he said respectfully, offering his hand and bowing, respectfully, though not subserviently.

Magneto puts his hand on Mike's shoulder. "Cassiel. I feel very welcome, thank you."

Then he smiles at Sara. "Not terrible? Well at least you're being honest."

"I have had a few issues...with other students..so to say." she replied with a slight smirk..that washed off before Cassiel or Lumis could see.

Lumis chuckles. "Shall we go? We have a limousine prepared, and a police escort to the University."

He motions, and starts walking. Magneto moves in beside him, with Exodus behind and to his right.

Lumis motions to Ryan. "Seraph, Closer, go ahead and find a police sergeant who should be waiting for you downstairs. He'll get the luggage sorted, you can meet us at the limo."

Bear nodded, heading ahead to make the arrangements.

Sara followed behind the group...listening to any thought that would be around them..

Ryan nodded. "Yes, sir," he said, turning and, after waiting for Bear to join him, moved toward the stairs that were indicated.

Jayda fell in behind Lumis, eyes drinking in details and scanning faces around them, she had noted the look between Cassiel and Exodus but flipped her mind back to the current situation once again.

The policemen don't have very complimentary thoughts about Magneto, but they are keeping a tight rein on it.

Magneto himself has no thoughts at all, as far as Sara can tell. His mind is totally shielded.

She spoke to Cassiel telepathically about the police officers, knowing full well, he probably knew already.. She continued to follow them toward the Limo.

Cassiel fell in to the other side of Lumis. I'm well aware, Sara, Cassiel answered. Just make sure none of their thoughts move beyond casual disapproval and into the realm of taking action.

"Roger that..", she replied..continuing her scan. "See you in a bit, Byrna.", she told the other girl.

Magneto notes the honor guard and crisp professionalisim of the students with a pleased, almost smug smile. He heads down alongside Lumis, to the waiting limo, Seraph and Closer already having gotten the bags.

He takes his seat inside, comforted by the weight of the armored vehicle around him. Lumis gets in as well, and then Cassiel, Exodus, and the students can climb inside as they like, though Exodus will be taking up a position to Magneto's right.

"I'd like to give you a tour of the campus, if you're interested. It's still a bit early, and I imagine you ate on the plane."

Magneto nods. "Thank you, that would be excellent."

Lumis nods in return, and motions for the driver to go once all the passengers are inside. Unlike Magneto, Lumis's mind is very active, Network is feeding him information about the various security arrangements he's made, giving him timely updates.
