Merle's stomp is unfortunently not quite what he wound have wanted, maybe in tundra his strength would be enough to make the earth ripple, but the polished floors of the facility merely shudder. His stomp does get him the attention of one of the cats, it leaps upward with surprising power, en-route for his face.

Rick is able to block a cat from attacking Rachel pretty easily, the beast that made it past Madrox skids to a stop, tail lashing as it tries to figure out how to attack a whirlwind.

Madrox himself gets the attention of two of the charging cats, plus the one he blasted. His second shot knocks another cat back, while the one he didn't have time to shoot at leaps forward to cling to his leg. The cat first knocked back is up now, and charging angrily at Maddie.

Madrox attempted to kick Leg Cat at Angry Cat, or if he can't get the cat off, kick Angry Cat WITH Leg Cat.

Merle calmly punches the cats in the face. Leaping into a superhuman fist isn't a very good idea, the strays are soon to find out.

Rick never strayed far from Rachel; nor did he say a word, figuring more quiet might aid her concentartion.

Merle gets in a solid punch on his cat, and Madrox is able to bash his around pretty well.

Rick, meanwhile, can keep Rachel clear easily enough.

After the initial rush, where the cats were small enough to be troublesome, there's simply not a lot creatures that size can do to a group with powers. They're damn tough tough, punishment that would have killed a regular cat or dog several times over just knocks these creatures out.

Rachel downs her beastie as well, leaving the group with a few scratches and spots of blood here and there, but nothing too serious. The claws and teeth of these things went right through the X-Uniform like it wasn't there. Tony's guards are busy congratulating the team, happy they didn't have to deal with the little hellions.

"Unless they're shapeshifters, these cats are just the welcoming party. They certainly weren't cats on the security feed."

Rick's feet landed on the ground as he slowed the tornado down to a stop.

"Yeah, more kitties aren't what I'm worried about.."

"Of course. But they were pretty good at it to miss something as basic as leaving the scene after they got what they wanted."

((Hate to do this, but since this thread appears to have died, and is almost over, I'm going to quickly wrap it up.))

((The team can take one or more of the cats back for Liam (the sorcerer) or Beast to look at, and would be encouraged to do so by Tony. The lab itself was trashed mostly by the security bots, which the badguys were not able to suborn, so nearly all the bots are destroyed, and they still respond to Tony's commands.))

((Tony thanks the team for helping him clear out the lab, since his suit was down, and will return to the University with them.))

((Mission complete, good job!))
