May 9th: Heads of State and Stately Heads

[Narrator]

Two of those still with guns turned to fire at Ronnie, the car now no longer under fire.

[Veronica Freud]

Ronnie tumbled and ran for the back of one of the gunmen's legs. It was hard enough to shoot something the size of a mouse to begin with, but doing so without shooting yourself in the foot was even more difficult.

"Hey! Why dontcha pick on someone yer own size!"

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Enough of this!" Ryan shouted, sending out a wide blast of energy to daze the ones up front who were in a position to do any damage... especially the idiot rushing him. He triggered his comm with his other hand. "This is Seraph! Diplomatic convoy came under fire. Doom has been removed from danger, two of us are holding back the mob! Requesting police backup to secure them!"

[Narrator]

Ryan's shock wave rippled out stunning the front row of the armed insurgents--hopefully Ronnie wold be quick enough to dodge!--as in the distance, sirens could be heard.

[Veronica Freud]

Being so low to the ground, and so dense, the shockwave did little to phase Ronnie. Just her luck, the gunman she was standing under hadn't dropped his gun, having been further back from the front wave. As he raised the rifle and pointed it a Ryan she sprang to action. Her body grew to such a large size so quickly that it caused a loud bang as it cut through and displaced the air around it. Her rapid expansion, and a punch between the legs, sent the gunman tumbling a couple of dozen feet into the air, emitting a breathless cry with flailing arms before slamming onto the roof of a nearby building.

"Drop 'em, or I'll drop y'all!" She boomed, growing larger and more imposing with every second.

[Narrator]

The combination of sticky balls flying, giant girls, light waves, and sirens....caused the remaining standing attackers to run like HELL back towards the alleyway...until the remaining free ones ended up trapped by a sharply aimed stickyball.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Thank God," Ryan muttered. "Alice!" he called, motioning for her to pick him up once he got her attention.

[Veronica Freud]

Ronnie turned and thudded toward Ryan, dwindling to a more manageable size as she picked him up.

"Yeah boss?"

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Let's go. The mob's gone, let's get back to the job."

[Janice Gilbertson]

Captain Britain set the car down on the far side of the intersection, well out of harm's way. She then looked back to her teammates.

[Veronica Freud]

"Sir aye sir." Ronnie said, setting Ryan on her shoulder as she walked back toward the cars and her other teammates.

[Narrator]

One of Doom's assistants took a big breath from an inhaler.

[Byrna Cooper]

Bear crouched on top of the car roof, surveying the aftermath.

"Let's get out of here groovily ASAP, folks!"

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Yes," Ryan said as he and Ronnie got back into the car. "Quickly."

[Narrator]

And the cars sped through the streets, to the Latverian embassy...

[Victor von Doom]

Where Doom was standing at the gate, waiting to greet them.

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan blinked, looking at the 'Doom' in the car with them. "Who are you," he insisted, glaring daggers at the fake Doom.

[Byrna Cooper]

"What else? Doom Bot."

Bear's lips curled in a strained frown.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"No, it's alive. But know what? No sense asking him." He got out of the car, facing doom and not even pretending to not be utterly pissed off. "What was that about," he demanded.

[Victor von Doom]

In response to Ryan's question, 'Doom's body opened up, and a slightly annoyed looking monkey hoped out and ran over to Doom.

"Bobo, Doom is pleased to see you are well." Doom said, picking up the monkey.

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan couldn't help it. His jaw dropped, and if anything he turned an even angrier shade of red. "Excalibur!" he barked, glaring daggers at Doom. "Out of the car. Let's go home."

[Byrna Cooper]

Bear angrilly followed, flipping her satchel around her back.

"I'm billing the Embassy for the balls I wasted!" She shouted over her back.

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan waited for the team to head out first, then turned to follow them away from the embassy. He pulled his comm out. "This is Seraph. I want a van to meet us between the embassy and the school. And there'd better be someone on command staff there for us when we get there." Again, he didn't even try to hide how pissed he was.

[Victor von Doom]

"Doom had been attacked before, and Doom wished to throw off his enemies. Doom also wished to ensure that Bobo arrived safely. Doom regrets that you feel Bobo's safety is beneath your notice."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"If you could get here without anyone seeing, you could bring a monkey with you," Ryan snapped back. "Lord Doom."

[Victor von Doom]

"If Doom had done that, Doom's enemies would have attacked at another time."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"And we would have been there when it happened, Lord Doom," Ryan said. "Now if you'll excuse me, please, we have reports to file after having to attack the people who were trying to blow up your monkey."

[Victor von Doom]

"You may go." Doom said "Come, Bobo, we have much to do."

[Veronica Freud]

"I woulda thought he'd name his pets somethin' historical like Bonaparte or somethin'." Ronnie mumbled as she followed the rest of the group.

"Wait... did I just get hit on by a monkey?"

[Kevin Gravis]

"At least it was a cute monkey."

[Veronica Freud]

"Well then you can be it's date fer the dance." Ronnie said in a snarky tone.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Oh, he was talking to us through the armor," Ryan grumbled as they walked away. "So don't worry, you really do have a fascist tyrant with his eye on you. Congratulations."

"He's got a good job and a nice car. I could do worse."
