"He's tough. He's a big guy--and got bigger. They were some pretty nasty burns, but he was getting taken care of--probably didn't even miss any classes.
"Looks like someone made the decision where you shower for you." she chuckles slightly. Glad to hear that Marcus is okay she doesn't want to bring the mood down.
Simon sipped his champagne almost cautiously. He wasn't exactly familiar with the stuff and it kind of took him by surprise how sweet and bubbily it was.
"Wow, there was a fight? I must have missed that. I was out all afternoon trying to find some clothes for tonight. Who was Marcus fighting with?"
"Well, I could leave the fighting, but I gotta admit, I love seeing what the different people can do. Makes class more interesting, at the very least."
"I wouldn't swap with anyone," Nina says, "But...I really would like to get to examine a shape shifter. Up close and in person. The ability to rearrange physiological composition at will is fascinating."
"I've already thoroughly examined Jessica," Nina says, smiling wistfully, "Her abilities aren't quite the same as some of the other shape shifters on campus though."
"I probably would have said shape shifting before this week but after seeing some of the complications that brings I'm not too sure now." Simon smirked. "Probably flying. Superman style I guess. Seems like a fun thing to do."
"There we go. That's what I always wanted growing up. Flying. Or superspeed, or teleportation, or something. Can't tell you how often I played in the backyard, yelling "BAMF" and running from tree to tree."
"I don't know... In retrospect I'm pretty happy with what I got. I doubt I'd ever be quite comfortable with flying, for instance. Nina's way to analyze living systems would be really convenient for research though."
"Oh, I'm happy with what I got, too--I mean, if this past week has shown me anything, it's that not being able to shift sucks. But, still, I see Ryan soaring up there sometimes..."
"I sometimes think it'd be good to have a power that would make me better in a fight, but I wouldn't want to give up flying." Chloe put in, after some thought "Flying is.......its the best thing ever."
"Well, kinda-sorta. I can certainly get bird shaped, but I haven't been able to fly like that, either. Though those tests were more jumping in place then off high buildings--I don't make the same mistakes twice.
"I don't think you were drunk when you planned on letting yourself be shot out of a pistol either. I still don't see in what context that sounded like a good idea." Putting a hand on Will's shoulder she kisses his cheek.
"Hey, I said I wanted to fly, right?" Will smiled. "I guess I'll put the list of things to try to the side for a while, though...I don't think my manager would approve me getting knocked out of circulation again."
