"Calling you?" Sean asked reaching for Altamira's hand.

"Yes...." she said, taking it.

With her other hand, she raised a finger, not that Sean could tell---until a tiny flame came out of it, lighting the immediate area in a mysterious flickering light.

"See this? This...this is me."

The flickering light revealed this.

"You are not just the Phoenix," Sean said holding her hand tightly, "You are Altamira. The phoenix is just something you are in addition to yourself."

"No....no, THIS....THIS is the Phoenix...."

And with that, from the palm of her raised hand, a tremendous flame, nearly licking the top of the cave erupted.

It wasn't hot, fortunately.

Sean would've flinched if the sudden change in brightness had not essentially blinded him.

"Woah," Sean said, "So the Phoenix is the firestorm and you are the ember?"

"How does anybody deal with having so much power? Some of us temper it with discipline, training, and sometimes simply finding a release," Sean said, "How did the other hosts control it?"

Sean was quiet and put his arms around Altamira.

"There must be a different way," Sean said, "A way that doesn't end in you having to end worlds, and maybe the Phoenix has the key to it. Maybe even I can help you.."

"You...no we still have to try," Sean smiled, "Maybe I don't know much about what trying to control a cosmic being is like, but....But I have some experience with controlling sometimes violent elemental forces."

Sean took a step back from Altamira, slowly disentangling himself from her. He exhaled and his eyes glowed.

"I've hidden this for so long, it's hard to show somebody without wearing a mask," Sean said as blue runes seemed to form on his skin. He said something in a language that few people would recognize, and it carried an odd amount of weight. Blue flames covered his arm to the elbow, but they were freezing cold.

"Magic, witchcraft," Sean said, "I'm not a mutant Altamira."

"I am not....am not....am not..." she said, her eyes fading, and the cave returning to normal darkness as she wavered a little.

"Not Altamira? Not what?" Sean asked.
