Anita is pretty sure that this is going to go badly, so she draws her sticks right away, but doesn't move in yet.

Charlie nodded.

"I'm moving into position."

Charlie stepped forward into a postition where the enemy wouldn't notice him with all the attention Seraph and the crowd drew. Thorns started growing out of his wrists and hands, and his body looked like it was getting bulkier. A helmet made of wood grew over his head, and last but not least four tentacle like vines with thorn tips shot out of his back.

He held up his hands in what appeared to be a defensive position, in reality he was waiting to launch a volley of thorn darts.

There was a slight smacking sound over the com, as Bear finished her orange slice.

"Be careful, everyone! I'll do what I caqn from up here."

Concentrating, she kept an eye over the situation, darting from one tough to the next before moving onto the new group of mutants as well.

The thugs grin, and one of them steps forward. "You don't want ta get mixed up in this kids, we've got permission to crack your heads now!" Feeling like a big man, he brandishes a gun.

"Really? That's funny," Ryan said, looking at the idiot with the gun. Light lanced from his eyes at the gunman's head to stun the biggest nerve center in his body: his brain. "Because so do we."

As far as opening moves went, he figured using his first free shot on one of the two guns wasn't a bad move.

The second free shot consisted of a sphere suddenly impacting out of nowhere against the second gun, coating it and the hand holding it in a sticky, gooey ooze and rendering it useless. (if successful)

The thug that Ryan blasted goes down, and the one with his gun goobered joins the rush forward as the thugs cry out in rage, brandishing weapons and charging Ryan and Anita en-masse.

Anita grins, and charges directly into the oncoming mob. A stick flashes out to catch the first man in the knee, and then her short form vanishes into the crowd.

Upon seeing the thugs rush Ryan and Anita, Charlie rushes into action. He flings his arms forward and out come a volley of sedative tipped thorn darts in a wide arc to hit as many of the thugs as possible. Any thug hit by the darts would instantaniously feel the effects, but on average it would take about a minute for them to fall asleep. In the meantime, they'll be very groggy and in no shape to fight

"Ryan, Anita. You might want to get low." He said as he let loose his volley

Ryan crossed his wings in front of him as they approached. When they got close enough, he snapped them out, striking in a wide arc with wings strong enough to hold a few hundred pounds of person in the air easily. He struck back with them again holding his wings like he'd seen an angry swan do in a nature video where the swan broke a guy's arm with a flap of its wing. "This is more like it!" he called to Anita as he send another blast from his eyes at the group.

Bear, meanwhile, continued to toss lots of balls down one after another- more sticky balls to impede the movement of some thugs' legs, bang balls to provide distraction. They were all delivered precisely and incredibly quickly.

The spray of thorns catches several men, who bat at the sting in their neck or back, and then sway as the drug takes hold.

The thugs in the front run into Ryan. One gets taken out by the eye blast, another by the wing buffet, but then Ryan's light form is knocked back and down by the rush of men. They don't have the presence of mind to rush him when he's down, they're stumbling about from the attack, unsure of what to do.

The rain from above by Bear catches several men, ensuring that the confused men won't regain their wits to swarm Ryan.

There are still thugs moving around, splitting into two groups as they move around the ones that are being pelted by Bear.

Anita appears in the center of the mob as it breaks up, whirling out of reach of fists, pipes, and knives with a smile on her face. She catches one thug across the forehead, and another with the end of the stick in his gut. Not laying people out, but disorienting them and breaking up the group.

That's it. Ryan lit up light the sun, his movements suddenly coming much more quickly as he pushed himself back to his feet.. He flapped his wings once, bringing him up over the crowd, delivering a kick to one man's jaw, while sending more blasts from his hands at opportune targets around him. His fighting style utilized the fact that he could easily get above people to deliver high strikes, and the fact that he could move fast enough that he was hard as hell to hit.

Bear opens up her satchel, contemplating what to rain down next.

"That's good, everyone. Keep them disorganized, away from any bystanders."

A couple of sticky balls landed, gluing some thugs down who were threatening to overtake some of the mutant onlookers.

Bear also kept an eye on the onlookers, hoping they would stay out of the fight.

The onlookers are happy to stay out of this one. The second volley of thorns and sticky balls is enough to drop everyone but the three guys that Anita is fighting... wait no, more like she's playing with them.

Charlie looked around for any more straglers to take down, making sure to leave the ones Anita was toying with to her.

Ryan tapped his comm again. "Lumis, this is Seraph. We have sixteen troublemakers, all subdued, no serious injuries sustained by either side. We're going to need some transport to get them out of here." He stretched his neck, then added over the comm, "Good job, guys."

Anita drops the last guy with a well placed kick to the solar plexus, and puts her sticks away with a practiced spin move.

She walks back to Ryan and the othes. "Well, that'll send a message, don'tcha think?"

Sara sprintsa across the street after letting herself down from the building, slowing down into a jog as the thugs go down before she manages to close in on them and just walks up to the others standing over the defeated thugs.

Smiling, Bear takes one of her leftover flowers out of her satchel, and afixes it to Madrox's uniform. She then does the same with Sara, placing one in her hair.

Then with her arms around the waists of her two teammates, she urges them to wave to the crowd.

"Meet Talos and Flowstone, everyone!"

Raising her arm to about shoulder height she gives a small wave to the crowd, obviously a little nervous about being put in the spotlight like this. She can't help but at least get a little swept up in Byrna's enthusiasm and turns herself into marble to show off a little.

Simon hadn't seen a chance to get in on the action, and from the look of things he didn't have to jump in. Instead he looked out over the crowds from the rooftop, keeping an eye out for anyone who was less than thrilled with the outcome of the scuffle.

Ryan smirked at his roommate as he and Sara joined them. "yeah, I don't know whether to be disappointed or not," he joked. He pulled out a handful of plastic zip ties and got to work securing the thugs' wrists together.

X-Team vans come to collect what thugs didn't run, or crawl off. A van arrives to pick up the team and take them back to the University as well, but the difference is that the van with the team in it has windows.

Ryan wasn't particularly gentle with the thugs as he helped load them into the van, but at least he didn't throw them or do anything else to hurt them more. "All right, team... make a good last impression," he said quietly as they walked up to the van, turning and waving at the crowd that had gathered to watch them.

Despite his display Simon was a bit embarrassed by Bear's praise. After all he hadn't done anything really. He hopped off of the roof of the van, giving her a pat on the shoulder.

"You did great." He smiled before stepping into the van.
