[Stan Bowen]

Stan was clearly very impressed.

Whistling, he leaned over the railing overlooking the newborn fruit grove.

"Now that is quite an equalizer.. And it works properly? Not just here indoors, in a small test plot?"

[Narrator]

"When something appears to be too good to be true I have come to learn that it usually is."

"There's a university here in London that provides free education, training, and guidance to young mutants," Mr. Cain says, "And they even manage to save the world from time to time. Seems to good to be true as well?"

"I'll admit, we're not purely a charity here," Mr. Cain explains, "We just won a very large contract to provide propulsion and guidance systems for S.H.I.E.L.D's new helicarriers. And contracts like that are going to make the company and it's investors very rich."

"But if I can use even a tenth of that money and put it into pure and revolutionary new technologies, this company will be able to succeed beyond everyone's wildest dreams."

"A very good question," Mr. Cain says, a series of floating video screens appearing behind him. Each one showing a beautiful oasis in the desert, "This was our initial test. Project Oasis. Four hundred acres of the Sahara Desert turned into a pristine wilderness."

"The full studies on Project Oasis and the technologies that led to it's creation will be up on our website tomorrow morning."

[Amanda Weinrich]

"You'll forgive me for wondering where the catch its." Amanda said quietly "And for being concerned about Shield."

[Stan Bowen]

Stan held her hand closely, looking at Cain pointedly.

"Just how broad is the reach of M Industries?"

[Narrator]

"Absolutely, Ms. Weinrich," Mr. Cain says, "Why should you trust me? The entire way our system is built demands I promise progress and deliver the status quo."

"But that's exactly the system I want to change," Mr. Cain says, "Our contract with S.H.I.E.L.D is a great example. Yes, we're building the next generation of helicarriers. Do you know how we got that contract?"

"I cut fiteen-percent off the price of the bid, contingent on them dismantling and destroying what remains of their Sentinel weapons program."

"I think that's worth souping up their engines a bit, don't you think?" Mr. Cain asks with a grin.

Stan held her hand closely, looking at Cain pointedly.

"Just how broad is the reach of M Industries?"

"We're developing technologies in every field of study, from genetic engineering to astrophysics," Mr. Cain says, "There is no possibility M Industries won't pursue."

[Amanda Weinrich]

"Do the patents belong to you, or the creators?" Amanda asked, feeling ever more suspicious the better it sounded.

[Daniel Uriel]

Daniel quirked an eyebrow. "SHIELD had a Sentinel program running?" he mused. "Interesting."

[Narrator]

"I can't comment on the contracts of our employees," Mr. Cain says, "But we're committed to respecting the rights of the creators as much as we possibly can while avoiding leaving ourselves open to unnecessary litigation."

[Lora Zalesky]

Lora scowled at the mere menton of Sentinels. "It is a good thing they will not be building any more, then."

[Amanda Weinrich]

Amanda giggled a little "My compliments on that delightfully vague non-answer."

[Daniel Uriel]

Daniel scoffed. "If he thinks they completely decomissioned all of them, he's nuts," he answered.

[Narrator]

"Business school teaches you one or two useful things," Mr. Cain says with a grin.

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah just shakes her head. Everything about Mr. Cain's points seemed valid enough for her to not have any reasonable concern, but something's off.

[John Hino]

Mr. Hino excused himself from John & Ayami and approached Mr. Cain and the small crowd around him. "Most impressive. I will most definitely be giving Mr. Yokoshima my recommendation to invest."

[Narrator]

Mr. Cain smiles, "I'm glad to hear it, Mr. Hino. I hope you've enjoyed yourself."

[John Hino]

"Indeed I have. It's not every day one gets to see such a grand miracle of science withe one's own eyes." Mr. Hino smiled.

[Narrator]

"I'm hoping my company can change that," Mr. Cain says with a grin, taking a drink from a waitress that passes by.

[Stan Bowen]

"Well, thank you for seeing to the complete shutdown of the Sentinel program, at least."

Stan gave Amanda a look of his own- one of slight concern.

He then turned around, quietly surveying the results of the display, looking for any sort of variances or other interesting things others might have missed.

[Narrator]

"It was my pleasure," Mr. Cain says.

Stan would notice that many of the displays showed full schematics of the technologies used. Whatever Mr. Cain was doing, he wasn't particularly worried about his patents being stolen.

[Amanda Weinrich]

"He doesn't seem to be hiding anything." Amanda said quietly to Stan.

Daniel scoffed. "If he thinks they completely decomissioned all of them, he's nuts," he answered.

"I guess that would be a little too good to be true, would it not?" She sighed.

[Daniel Uriel]

"This is all just... weird," he admitted as they watched the presentation.

[Stan Bowen]

"He doesn't seem to be hiding anything." Amanda said quietly to Stan.

Stan turned, whispering himself.
"No, he's not.. which concerns me even more. No visible security, allowing anyone in through the gate, no attempt to keep these new technologies away from competitors.. It's like it's all a big show with no substance. If it is, what's the real purpose?"

"That is what worries me." Amanda replied.
