Apr 4: Recuperation

Postby Tommy More » Sat Sep 04, 2010 1:09 am

Tommy was walking around through Mayfair, just kind of clearing the air around his head.

And that's when the world went white. Tommy could here an explosion going off very close. Hell, he could feel the damn thing as a shock wave rocked the ground.

Across the street, the explosion had apparently ripped through a building, gutting it. People were screaming in pain and fear as the people around Tommy panicked. He could hear cries for help coming from the building.

"What?!" Tommy said, momentarily startled.

Then, with a look of determination, he started towards the building. "Gentry, coming through! One side!"

Things did not look good. Several people were dead and many more were trapped by rubble. Tommy could see one woman whose leg had been caught underneath a pile of bricks. Her face was covered in blood and she wasn't moving.

Tommy quickly fumbled around for his phone and dialed 999, but left it at that without talking, just to send his location out.

He bent down. "Are you alright?" he asked, checking for a pulse.

The pulse was light but there. Her leg looked pretty messed up though.

"Alright, step one..." he mumbled, using his powers to create small earth shafts, to lift the rubble off of the woman.

Tommy manages to free the woman, but her leg is a mess. She needs medical attention and quickly.

"It's alright, help is on the way," he said, essentially using a series of raising and lowering earthen platforms as a makeshift conveyor belt, sliding the woman out of the way of the collateral damage.

A girl dressed in a black costume stepped out from the shadows, lifting rubble out of the way of another trapped citizen as Tommy worked.

"You! Miss! What's going on here?" he asked...in the demanding tone of someone who felt he should be in charge.

"These people need help," Onyx says in her best growly voice, "There's no time to talk."

Tommy could hear the sirens as emergency services arrived and started setting up to receive patients and transport them out. They seemed relieved that there were superheroes on hand.

"Quite..." he frowned.

"Out of the way! Superheroes coming through and all that," he said, bringing his injured chap to an ambulance.

With hard work and some effort, the two of them would manage to free the survivors with no additional casualties beyond all the dead people lying around.

Onyx shrugs, "Thanks for your help, citizen."

With that she steps into the shadows and disappears.
