Working out

Postby Will Stanton » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:42 am

Will was in the pool, doing laps.

Every third back and forth, he would go under the water, and not come up for a full length.

Back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth.

Jennifer wandered in in a swimsuit with a towel over one shoulder. She tossed the towel on a rack away from the pool and stretched, watching Will swimming back and forth. After gauging where he was swimming, she jumped in as well, trying not to get in his way.

Will kicked up at one end, holding onto one edge.

"Oh! Hey there."

"In what way? You were doing a good job from my vantage point." She seemed to be floating in the water without a great deal of effort.

"I suppose. Probably also a reasonable idea to talk to people who are at home in the water. Only so much you can learn on your own after all. Just my two cents." She smiled.

"I'm only one of the people. Zeryn would have been better, but he moved to the Institute in the States. There are a few others here with water-associated abilities I think."

"Bigoted assholes sabotaging my projects and professors considering that explanation the equivalent of 'the dog ate my homework'. Even when I showed them the piece that had 'Mutie' scrawled across what was left of it." The water around her became briefly more turbulent as she talked, but calmed down again immediately.

A bridge made of water rose out of the water and a current started moving under it. Jennifer laughed, "Hey, at least it gives me an excuse to try something I haven't before."

I suppose something will come up -- some opportunity will present itself."

"Much larger group dynamic then and you're dealing with a larger pool of abilities. Supremely flexible, but you risk losing some of the small group closeness. In which case, maybe a show and tell night? Have each team member show off what they can do on a basic level in the Danger Room with everyone else watching. Get everyone familiar with each other's abilities without the pressure of a team exercise. And the Danger Room can fill in technical details for those who are technically minded. Just a suggestion."
