Setting Up Shop: Field Leader's Office

Postby Will Stanton » Mon Jun 04, 2012 2:18 pm

The "office" Will had procured wasn't the world's largest -- he had a sneaking suspicion it had used to be a janitor's closet that had been slightly retrofitted for this task. Still, an office was an office, and Will was going to do this up right.

On the walls, he had hung picture of many of the former field leaders of the X-Men: Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Nightcrawler (this one oddly slightly larger than the others), Havok, Wolverine, and Seraph. A big oak desk literally stretched from one end of the room to another, such that the only way around it was directly over it, a prospect made difficult by the slanted ceiling. On the wall behind the desk was a map of London with a number of pushpins stuck in it at various locations, and a row of three-ring binders.

Will took a step back, nodded, and smiled.

Janice spotted the name on the door as she was passing by, and ducked her head in.

"...when did they give you an office?"

"When I asked them for an office, believe it or not. The Headmistress is helpful, sometimes.

...Sometimes."

"It's...."

Will paused, uncharacteristically.

"Let's just say that it's a long story.

But hey! Sweet new office."

"Pretty much. I have NO idea why this room is this shape," he said, as he started painting the fourth wall of the office.

"Aha! A theory. A theory most sound.

I suspect that I've got enough special privileges as it is that they just kinda pawned this one off on me," he chuckled.

"Of course," Will chuckled. "But this isn't exactly the highest-traffic corridor. I was rather hoping for Professor Lumis' old office, but somehow that didn't come through!"

Will then proceeded to tell the story of the quality of jobs he had been offered as an actor, as well as the long list of slightly more respected things that he wasn't even considered for, most often due to his status as a mutant.

"...so, yeah. Sara's got a big, fat, juicy government contract and articles in journals and shit, and I'm a mop."
