DT10 - If I just eat salad, I can drink more beer...

Trev sat alone in the XUB, freshly showered, and picking at a salad unenthusiastically, a pint of beer sitting so far untouched next to it. He stared at his phone glumly, thinking over the events of the past few weeks.

"I do know Lucy! I was hungover one day and she started talking to me and I was a grumpy ASSHOLE and scared her off at the very start of summer. I felt awful so I looked on the campus directory for her and stood outside your flat with almost an hour in the rain with some flowers and chocolate, but I think you guys were out.

Did you two ever get them? The rain might have ruined the card so maybe they just seemed like a mystery gift."

Trev laughed, "I haven't seen or heard from her since. She must think I'm an enormous ass. I'm not, I promise," he smiled. "buy you a drink?"

"Sure," Trev said, "It's a date, not a marriage proposal. You go out, have fun, and get to know each other, and see what happens from there, you know?"

He took a swig of his beer, clearly feeling oddly bold today...but maybe that was because he was on beer three while not eating much. "The worst that happens is you get to know someone enough to say 'nah, not my type' and you both go on your merry way."

"I don't eat meat." Chloe said "Well, not most of the time. I have recently, a couple of times, when I was shifted into a dinosaur, but once I shifted back I got a tummy ache, so I think that I shan't be doing it anymore."

"I've got crazy vocal chords. Right now I can pretty much just yell really freaking loud, and break things, but with some of the things I've read, and with some of the mutant experts I've talked with, I might be able to scream at a frequency that could actually make me fly. I haven't really tried that hard so far...but it's something I think I want to try and work towards, you know?"
