DT10 - Very good friends

He'd checked that she'd been discharged while he was working the half-shift they allowed to him that day. One of the nicer things about being a combat medic was that after a mission, everyone was more than ready to give him some time off to recover and not be burned out. So it was much earlier in the day that Derek came, takeout bag in hand, knocking on Chloe's door.

"Nah. You were out like a light halfway through, I didn't think you'd remember much of the start of it," he said, setting the carry out bags down on the table. "Looks like you're feeling better today, though," he added with a grin.

He frowned at that. "Not really," he said. "She's in lockup like the rest of them. Haven't heard anything else about her yet, though."

He smiled a little, then walked over to (carefully) hug her. "Promise. I drink my problems away, I don't go on terrorist sprees," he joked (badly).

Derek grinned, then leaned over and kissed her forehead before he started unpacking the food. "Good, because I'd really hate to have to leave you all alone tonight," he said. "Totally would make me feel bad, and you don't want me feeling bad, right?"
