Issue 1 Downtime

Samantha was sitting on the couch in her flat, reading. She seemed restless, shifting her position every now and again, never seeming to quite settle.

After a while of this Nailah put down her journal, leaving the pen between the pages.

"Do I have to go sit somewhere else or are you going to spit out what's bothering you?" she asks with a bit of playful teasing in her voice.

"Well, I don't..." she begins with a shrug before she trails off, her eyes focused somewhere on the wall behind Sam.

"There is something wrong..." she mumbles. "Something feels... off."

"Something's missing. Just a little... Are you sure nothing happened?" she asks, still staring at Sam's shadow on the wall.

"Yeah..." she says, touching Sam's shadow, although unlike Vickie her hand just ends up touching the wallpaper.

She frowns, though she has no argument against that, especially with how potentially volatile Sean's blood might be.

"She better have a damn good reason to keep his blood around instead of destroying it..." she grumbles.
