Issue 1 Downtime

Nailah, in an unusual calm mood, is sitting on the lawn in the quad, legs folded into a lotus seat. Her eyes are open though she does appear to not actually be looking at anything. If anyone paid enough attention they'd notice that despite her calm and almost motionless appearance birds and the occasional squirrel seem to go out of their way to give her a wide berth.

Most birds, at least. There was a steadily increasing number of ravens perching in a nearby tree.

"You seem... brighter these days." she says, still not moving or looking at the ravens.

"Not anymore, no." she says, a faint smile tugging on the lips. "I just didn't have the quiescence to notice."

"It has little to do with it. At least now that I am back here and had time to see it. She is... a little less ferocious."

"Is that a challenge?" she smirks faintly, otherwise still appearing calm on the outside at least.

"Then it probably was." she says, glancing up at the flock for just a moment.

At that Nailah's eye twitches and there's an almost palpable flare of emotions around her that she struggles to calm.

"Not funny..."

She takes a sharp breath, righting herself again. "Not your fault. Not your fault..." she mumbles.

Nailah is quiet for a moment, then she takes a deep breath and looks at the flock.

"Not here." she says and she almost explodes upwards as she jumps and takes to the air.

"Fair enough," comes the answer as the flock moves to follow.

Eventually she settles on the roof of one of London's skyscrapers, bracing herself against a wall with one hand.

The flock resolved itself into the shape of Samantha, a concerned look on her face.

"I didn't know..."

"Of course not. I didn't tell you." she says, not turning around to look at Sam for now. "I thought it'd be a good way to be able to move around the hotel. Harbinger's latest toy. I underestimated her..."

"You better not..." she mumbles though it doesn't take a telepath to notice her posture relaxes at that. "I already paid for it."
