Room 311: Back From Work

After a shift from the infirmary, Claire headed to her room. She started to unlock the door, looking pretty tired in general.

Claire wouldn't really have much time to get settled. She'd been in for possibly three minutes before there was a hesitant knock on the door by a rather ragged-looking Victoria.

Claire opened the door, looking surprised at seeing Victoria.

"I sleep with people because it hurts less than opening up to people," Victoria said, without preamble and before she could (probably deservedly) get the door slammed in her face. She swallowed, not making eye contact. "Well, and because it's fun, but mostly because that way I can pretend that someone gives a damn about me without having to give them anything about myself that they can use to hurt me."

Claire suddenly pulls the girl into a tight hug.

"...I'm sorry," Claire says, "I said a lot of awful things to you."

Victoria bit her lip as she hugged her back. "I started it. I'm too much of a bitch to admit when someone's right that I might just be a little screwed up." She swallowed. "I'm sorry. I... don't have any friends, and it scares the hell out of me to think about opening up to someone again.'

"Please. You're wonderful, I'm a bitch," Victoria said, wiping her eyes on her hand before she pulled back from the hug. "And no one else will eat things that are ungodly spicy with me."

Victoria nodded. "Yeah, I..." She shook her head, resisting the urge to look up the hall. "Sorry. Have someone else watching Vivien tonight and I..." she swallowed, then walked in. "Yeah. Um... trust issues. Anyway."

Claire grabbed some clothes from the closet, throwing them on the bed before starting to strip out of her dirty scrubs without a second thought.

"Remind me to take you to a spa or something then," Claire says, "A good massage would do you a world of good."

"I believe that that's the first time I've heard someone say that who wasn't using it as an excuse to get me to take my shirt off," Victoria mused with a little smirk, reflexively glancing at Claire as she spoke to her.

Claire drops her clothes in a laundry bin before heading to her dresser to get fresh socks and underwear. She sits on the bed and begins to change as she continues talking.

"I wouldn't mind giving you a massage, if you promise not to enjoy it too much..." Claire hesitates for just a moment as she changes her bra, blushing as she realizes what she's doing.

Victoria laughed. She didn't not look at Claire, but she also took in the room, possibly removing some weirdness factor from changing in front of someone. "I need to take you to what serves as my spa sometime. Nothing like it, I promise," she said.
