Some time after the ill-fated 'talk' in the rec center Nailah knocks on the door to Nate's office before stepping inside. "Got a moment?"

"Mostly to apologize. Sam... Well she embraced certain things a little too much. It takes some getting used to." she says, staying a little vague since she doesn't really know how Nate stands on that whole topic in general.

"But her not wanting you is not any more true than my wife and family not wanting me back. But it takes time and I couldn't go right back to doing what I was doing before I left. I used to be a history teacher. That just wasn't possible. So I found other things to do. Ways to be useful."
