"I'm settling in pretty well, Madison," Coryd smiled. "Students have been coming and checking in with their new therapist, office is up and running, and London weather has been decent."
"But I'm guessing you're not here just to say hello."

"Yeah, I need a favor," Madison says, "I have a mutant with unidentified abilities."
"Any way of figuring out what she can do before she starts melting off faces or something?"

"There are," Croyd said, "Some easier than others. I take it that asking her is off the table?"

"Yeah, never thought of that one."
"She's practically catatonic," Madison says, "I've got Mike working on communication, but I'm not even sure she knows what she can do at this point."

Croyd smiled.
"Well, do you have blood or tissue samples?" Croyd asked. "Otherwise I'll need to use the danger room and we'll need to do something a bit more hands on."

"She's been through some sort of trauma, Webster," Madison says, "I was hoping for something a little less invasive. Danger Room might work as long as you take it easy."

"Understood."
"Mostly I need it for the shielding and out of the desire to not blow up my new office," Croyd said, "I'd rather try figuring it out through communication first anyways."

"Have at it," Madison says. She heads for the door and returns a little while later with Jane in tow, guiding the girl to sit down in a chair.

"Hello," Croyd said greeting Jane with a slight smile. He'd set the danger room to a comfortable environment that seemed quite similar to his office.

Croyd watched Jane closely.
"My name is Croyd Webster," Croyd said, "I'm a counselor at Xavier's University. Do you know what that is?"

"It's a school for people with mutant abilities, we help them learn to cope with their abilities, and the issues that come with them," Croyd said, "Sometimes we help them deal with issues from their past too."
"I have heard that you're a mutant too. Is that right?"
Croyd picked up a small device from his desk and moved slowly to the front of it while he talked before sitting down on the desk in front of Jane.

As Croyd moved, Jane looked up. Watching him.
First observation: She didn't blink very often.

"I brought something for you in case you'd be more comfortable talking to me through it," Croyd said holding out a device with a keypad.

Croyd ignored Madison for the moment instead focusing on Jane.
"Can you do something that nobody else can do?" Croyd asked picking up the keypad and placing it on a glowing force field. "Something like that?"

Croyd generates several more small force fields in his hand then fans them out in front of Jane.
"Have you seen something like this before?"

It happened in the blink of an eye.
Jane pushed up and forward with her arms, swinging her legs out. She launched herself out of the chair, both feet aimed in a powerful kick towards Webster.

Jane pushes against the force field, flipping away from Webster gracefully and landing in a crouch on the floor.
In one hand she holds a pen she took from Webster's desk, holding it in front of her like it was a weapon.

If there's any understanding it doesn't show. Jane backs up slowly away from Croyd so that her back is to the wall.
