It was the first time Victoria had been seen since a bit before Doom vanished. So of course... she made an entrance, when did she not? The air in the quad shimmered, then stretched into a hole in space six feet across, through which Victoria stepped, dressed in a simple blue gown, just exotic enough to draw looks without looking completely out of place. And oddly, for those who had last seen her, and for the medical staff who would know damn well she hadn't been up there, she wasn't pregnant, and was carrying a small bundle that anyone who knew her and had half a brain could figure out.

She sighed, looking around, then snapped her fingers, closing the gate behind her.

Ms. McManus had been walking from the cafeteria towards the administration building, a sheaf of papers in a folder under her arm. She was a bit surprised by the entrance, but smiled when she saw who it was.

"You know," she said, "some of us were beginning to worry."

Victoria looked a bit tired, but as always was hiding it rather well. "Well, you know me... I can't make things too simple or people will start to figure it out," she said with a slight smile. "Vivien, say hello to Aunt Samanth- ah, sleeping again. Doesn't surprise me," she mused, looking down at the sleeping baby.

"I don't know how long you've had her, but as I understand it you'll come to prefer that to the alternative." She chuckled.

"Oh, I know," Victoria said with an even more tired smile. "No... I've only had a few days to get used to it... which of course means I'm not used to it."

The baby seemed to have a normal skin tone, and curly black hair. And as it was just a baby, no, it was impossible to tell whether it took after her mother or her father.

"True, but when you know magic, you can keep her sleeping," Victoria said reasonably.

Granted, Sam was psychic, so if she wanted she could tell if Victoria was joking or not, but as usual there were no physical cues to let on.

"I'm teasing. Of all the things to regret from that future, naming your daughter isn't one of them."

"Oh, I didn't name her," she said. "I got permission to veto two names if I needed, but I didn't end up needing to. It was part of a bargain." She looked down at the little girl almost a little regretfully.
