Sean was sitting out on the quad taking a nap out in the sun using his shirt for a pillow.

Sean raised himself onto his elbows and looked at Nailah.

"Eh?" Sean asked putting on his best sleepy and confused act.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to tell anyone. Just keeping an eye on, say, freelancing heroes?" she smiles enigmatically.

"Has anybody ever told you that you're a very strange person, professor?" Sean asked while getting onto his feet.

Sean picked up his shirt from the ground, a small phoenix emblazoned on his lower back.

"At this school it sounds like a necessary adaptation," Sean said.

Nailah quirks a brow as she notices the symbol.

"Speaking of which, that's an... interesting choice for a tattoo."

Sean tried to see it, but well hard to check out your lower back.

"I have not been drunk enough to forget getting a tattoo," Sean said, "What exactly is it of?"

"It appears to be a stylized bird. Judging by the iconography I'm inclined to say a phoenix."

"Altamira..." Sean said then chuckled. "I guess she branded me."

"Yeah, that is fairly likely," Sean said as he pulled his shirt over his head, "Would have preferred it in a slightly less embarrassing location.

Though on the bright side I guess cosmic beings will think twice about turning me to ash?"

"I'd assume so. Being the significant other of a powerful woman has it's advantages. At the very least it tends to keep you from harm." she laughs.

"I think we're supposed to call her Headmistress McManus now," Sean smiled, "I know how to handle myself in a non-powered fight, but being able to fight off a sentinel is kind of beyond me, Professor."

"And if that's what you want people to assume then that is fine, but I'm fairly certain at least Altamira knows better, no?"

Sean grunted an affirmative.

"I prefer people not knowing," Sean said, "They have this strange tendency to look at you differently when they find out you can speak the fundamental language of the universe or rather what is known as magic."

"I could be," Sean said, "But you'll understand if I'm just slightly skeptical since my understanding is that people think one of the other magic wielders here sacrifices children to perform rituals."

"It could be," Sean said, "I'm also not a mutant, just a normal person, or as normal as somebody who can create flowers from star light is. I've lied to dozens of people if not hundreds including my parents."

"We do what we think is right." she says, a bit of a shadow falling over her expression at the memory of Tir na Nog. "Sometimes that means we have to lie to people or hurt them."

"For some reason I doubt people will accept the 'I was scared of telling the truth' and was 'so used to telling the lie it was basically the truth' excuses," Sean said rubbing the bridge of his nose, "So what do I jump off a roof wearing my disguise and then remove my mask?"

This was obviously something that had been bothering him for a long time.

"They will if you're honest and they care enough to listen. I don't think theatrics are really necessary though. Just sit them down and have a heart to heart. start with the ones most important to you and go from there. It'll get easier each time."
