"What on Earth..." Will said, as she crossed the Quad.

The robots head snaps up from inspecting a patch of dirt and looks at Will, the 'face' sliding back into place after a second.
"Unfamiliar colloquialism. Please specify."

"Um, it's an expression of surprise..."

"Understood." it says and flips it's 'face' up to scan a nearby tree.

"What, the quad?"

"Yes."

"It's, uh, an open space. For gathering, and relaxing..."

"I see no beds."

"Biological systems regularly need sleep to reduce mental stress. Relaxation implies reduction of stress. I see no beds to facilitate that."

"That isn't the only way to reduce stress..."

"Then how else do you reduce stress?"

"By....doing non-stressful activities?" Will said, confused.

"Understood."
"Explain the trees, please?"

"Um...what do you mean, explain the trees?"

"It is obviously an artificially created area. Why are they here?"

"'Cause they look nice?"
Re: May 30th - Surveying

"Is there any particular reason why they look nice?"

"No?"

"Oh. Very well. I still don't entirely understand aesthetics. Those trees do not comply to a 1:1.6 ratio at all."

"I am aware. It is simply one of the few rules of aesthetics I find to be comprehensive."

"Aesthetics....doesn't really have 'rules'."

"They have to, even if each autonomous system apparently has their own set of rules."

"Why do they have to?"

"They cannot be randomly determined. It makes no sense."
