Victoria shrugged out of her hoodie as they walked in, having successfully made it there without people gawking at the healing bite marks on her neck and shoulder. "Side note? Be somewhere other than the dorm room Monday night, while Cowgirl learns that turnabout's fair play," she said as they walked to a booth near the bar.

Victoria smirked. "The thought crossed my mind, but I don't think I could be that loud and sound convincing. And my mother taught me never to do anything halfway."

"She owned an 'Investigative Acquisitions' company that kept her busy most of the time, and had a few little businesses here and there, mostly restaurants or hotels or other things that are easy to leave in other people's hands so that you don't have to deal with them."

"Cool." Chloe said, noticing the past tense, but not guessing the most obvious reason "Is she retired now?"

"No, she's dead," Victoria said as she looked over the menu. "She was at Xavier's in New York when Sentinels dropped in to say 'hello.' And her being her, she wasn't one of the ones who ducked for cover."

"I know you didn't," Victoria said simply. "It was a few years ago. A little hard when it happened, but..." she shrugged, "She wouldn't have wanted me to break up about it. Everyone has dead family, it's not something to make people feel bad about."

Victoria smirked. "The difference being that they're much less full of themselves, and some of them actually are charming."

"Of course, there are always some exceptions, like that big lug that we had to take with us on our mission."

Victoria had cleaned up since the night of the club, but there were still fang marks visible on her shoulder and neck, which she really couldn't cover up since she was trying to keep the barbed-wire tattoo she'd gotten that week aired. "I was wondering where you'd been."

"Here and there," she replies vaguely, "getting used to the lay of the land, looking for good vegitarian restaurants, doing some window shopping while I wait for the student assistance stuff to clear so I can actually buy stuff. Debating finding part team work. You two?"

"I have an urgent need for new boots, not to mention this awesome miniskirt that should help me survive the first week of classes," she nods, eyes twinkling mischiviously, "but I am finding ways to cope."

Victoria smirked. "I smell a shopping trip here." She gave Chloe a pointed look, then looked back at Zoe. "Princess here is having some problems with all the boys her sister is running around thinking she's her. Think we can find a way for her to distinguish herself?"

"Nothing too extreme, please." Chloe said "If you're looking for good veg restaurants, I can offer the name of a place or five."

Chloe smirked a little "Or maybe a nice rosy pink." she said to Zoe, and then shuddered a little as Victoria spoke "No thanks, I'm not fond of needles or pain."
