"Alright." Simon gave the knob on the washer a turn before patting his hands together as if to clean them off. "The living room should be a good spot. Help me move some of the furniture out of the way would you?"

Simon moved the coffee table and other small furniture, making for a nice big area to work in.

"Alright. Before we get too creative, I wanna get an idea of just how good you are already." He said, standing up straight. "Here's the scenario. It's a covert operation, pure sneaking and intel gathering. There is gonna be a meeting in this room and you have to get as much information as possible. But these guys are paranoid. They're going to be checking for surveillance equipment. So you've got to look totally natural and part of the room, but still have some senses to get the information."

"Right, OK..." Will said, looking around and peeling off his shirt to reveal the unstable molecule stuff he wore underneath...and immediately started thinning out, his arms merging and melding in with his sides, his legs, too, solidifying and ending on in a point as he shrank, with a pen lying there in the middle of the room, at the end of it.

Simon knelt down, looking at the tiny Will with a little smirk. "Impressive. I was expecting a lamp or a potted plant or something. But this'll do nicely." He picked up the pen and decided to test it, pressing on the button on one end before rolling the ball point on his palm.

IT did, in fact, leave a black mark, just like you would expect a pen to do! Amazing, that.

"Very nice Will, very nice. But now comes the hard part." Simon held the Will-pen in both hands and suddenly snapped it in half using his rather surprising strength.

Ink squirted out, as you would expect, before clogging up, as the top half reformed into a tiny Will.

"Arrrrghh," he groaned.

"Hey, not bad." Simon said. He checked the remaining part of the pen, seeing if the insides actually looked like a pen.

"Sorry about that, but it's something you need to consider. When you take the form of a house plant, are you going to make the soil and roots below the surface too? If not, what happens if someone knocks you over? If you're a chair and someone smashes you over another person's head, are you going to have wood grain inside where you splinter? Nails? I wanted to see if you made stuff below the surface before you needed them." Simon looked as his hands. "You can, uh, soak this ink up whenever you're ready."

The interior did look something like a pen--even more so if he wasn't quite 100% sure how pens worked!

"Well, it's usually not an issue," he said, groaning just a little bit more as he sat up in Simon's hand.

"No, usually it's not. But when it does become an issue, that's when you'll need to have done it ahead of time." Simon said.

"Are you okay?"

"Well, if you were expecting it you might have reacted differently. I wanted to surprise you." Simon gave the tiny Will a reassuring pat on the head with his finger. "Hey, you did good. It wasn't exact, but pretty good. I think you should spend a little time taking things like this apart and just looking at what's inside them. If you know how they work, you'll know how to make yourself work."

"I do all the time when I'm bored." Simon shrugged. "It's not just about when someone does something on purpose, it's also about when they do it on accident. If you were imitating a plant and someone knocked you off the table, would you be able to make the soil and roots and such in time that when the pot smashed you'd be convincing?"

"Probably not," Will admitted. "That's something I'd have to do ahead of time---of course, then, I'm sacrificing mobility. It's a tradeoff."

"Yeah, and that's things you'll have to consider. I'm not trying to force you to change your ways Will. I'm just trying to help you consider and prepare for different things."

Simon carefully set Will back down on the floor, kneeling down. "... maybe we should try something a little more abstract and less painful."

"The only way I'd let that happen is definitely not something your wife would approve of." Simon smirked. "Unless maybe she wanted to wear a corset too."

Simon stood up as Will reformed, looking around the flat. "Do you have any plain paper?"

"Nope! We're going to try something that your daughter will be able to help you out with." Simon said as he sat down on the floor, spreading out some of the paper.

"Will, when you were a pen, being written with didn't hurt, right? Lets try some crayons and see how they work."

"Alright..." he said, looking at Simon with a "I hope you know what you're doing" kinda look.

And with that he dwindled, and yet became wider, too, proportionally, as his head rolled back to create an open top to the box, with sixteen little spikey crayons sticking out the top.

The box looked Crayola, but was branded Will.

Simon picked up the box and looked at it before smirking. "Oh, that's a nice touch." He chuckled, noticing the WILL label. He set the box down before he laid down on his stomach. Picking the box up again he gave it a little shake to loosen the crayons before attempting to remove a light green crayon.

For a second it was stuck in there, and Simon would have to put a decent amount of pressure on it--but eventually,it slid out with an audible 'pop'.

The crayon, too, was labeled with Will branding.

"We can always chalk that up to them having melted a bit to the box." Simon said, trying to reassure Will. Setting the box back down, he started scribbling on the paper, a sort of green splotch with a pair of green dots beneath it. When he was done he put the crayon back, reaching for another colour.

Again, the effort required to remove it, but it wasn't too bad.

The one thing he would notice was that if he used one crayon for an extended period of time, it would get rather soft.

"Will, crayons melt in the sun, not in my hands." Simon said softly. He wasn't being critical, just trying to encourage the boy. "You can hold it together, I know you can."

With his encouragement, the crayon began to harden back up again, though it was a rather constant battle, going harder and softer as Simon worked with it.

The ones in the box, however, were perfectly fine.

Simon kept switching out the crayons, until his picture was almost done. He'd drawn a little crayon version of Will, with stick arms and legs ending in balls for hands and feet, and all coloured in. All that was left was the shirt. He picked out a purple crayon and started drawing, pausing for a moment before making little bumps for breasts and a sucked in waist. Yeah, that green hair did look a little long didn't it?

"Geeze Will, you keep going soft on me. I bet you don't have trouble staying hard for Sara. There, done." He said, placing the crayon back in the box and closing it.

"So? How was it?"
